Well we've just spent a fairly sleepless night at Kings after my daughter (2 yrs 4 months) dived off her top bunk bed and broke her arm. The poor thing now has pins in her arm and a cast for the next four weeks. I'm thinking of ways in which I can reduce the bunk beds to firewood. The reason for my posting was to say how lovely the staff at Kings were - without exception they pulled out all the stops to make her (and my husband and I) really comfortable. Thankfully (as I'm a little hospital phobic after being on the wrong end of cancer with mine and my husband's mothers) I never made it to hospital to have my daughter, and this is the first time we've had to visit A&E with her (I'd love to say the last, oh how I'd love to say that!). Thank you, thank you, thank you to all staff at Kings in the kiddies sections (A&E and Lion ward and theatre) - you guys do a fantastic job!

Your poor little girl, hope she's OK (I'm hoping she's old enough to think a cast is a novelty?), and hope you and hubby are OK after what must have been a horrible shock for you both!

I've been to Kings A&E once when my daughter was tiny, and I agree they provide a fantastic service, we're lucky to have them so close by.

Take care x

    • Thank you for your explanation, which makes complete sense. Sadly I'm guessing that most of those who post on here, including me, are not familiar with the  holiday arrangements of the construction industry. Very sorry to have ventured an uninformed opinion 😀
    • I live right next to the Rye and literally never notice any negatives of Gala. Another week sounds lovely for the people that enjoy it.  Also I have a PhD in ecology and can confirm that the rye is providing virtually no environmental benefits. It's almost entirely grass.
    • Regardless of what the majority think, (although they never get a voice in any council matters) the council will go ahead with this regardless. Wonga!
    • How come you are always there when these things happen?! 🤣 More seriously, someone posted on here the other day that they are practices. Who knows?
