After school child care needed from January - Nunhead

We are looking for after school care for our 3 children starting soon after Christmas.

They go to nursery & school in Nunhead and we live within walking distance. We need someone to pick them up on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from Ivydale School and nursery.

Hours are 3-7pm on Tuesday, and Wednesday 12-7pm as the younger one (aged 3) finishes nursery early. (We could change this to Monday & Tuesdays 3-7 if that suited the right person better).

The children are aged 3, 6 and 9 and are great fun, love creative play and sports.

The ideal candidate would be very local and flexible, as on occasion we'd need them to take the kids TO school as well (more ad hoc) as we both have variable shift patterns at work.

We are looking for someone who is fun, energetic, capable of handling three children with calmness and kindness, can do homework with them, and ideally cook. Experience and qualifications would be ideal but not essential.

Look forward to hearing from you.

    • I had this problem. The only way I could resolve it was by phoning the number of the letter. I was set up over the phone having already registered for an account. The instructions on the letter are not correct as a code needs to be inputted. I do now have my permit.
    • A friend of mine was into "skill swap" about 40 years ago. It wasn't within an organised scheme, she just offered services like help with painting in exchange for services received. She upset some people as they carried out their services for a living, I.e. for money. An organised scheme sounds much better.
    • Gosh, that is a blast from the past.  Friends in York were into this, he was an accountant and had things like decorating done in exchange.  Not sure if it was equivalent in terms of hours, and I recall HMRC being interested as it was a way of tax avoidance.   A link for a London wide scheme but have no idea of its popularity: https://www.londonwide.letslink.org/members/index.php
    • Is anyone else having problems trying to register their car for a residents LTN permit for upland road as the council web site only seems to want to allow blue badge holders a permit .
