I've seen the future, well eaten it anyway

I like Chocolate Brownies

I like Mince Pies

I now like Mince Brownies

They look and taste just like a regular brownie, but the 'mince' bit hits you at the end. Very nice indeed and i'll probably be sick of them by the end of Xmas.

I've also eaten sprouts, prepared in a very pleasing manner. All the big leaves pulled off and steamed, then mixed in with little chunks of thick bacon, bacon fat and chopped chestnuts. Now they were very delicious and they'll be appearing at our Xmas lunch, as will roasted white sweet potatoes

And quince jelly

No none of that...

I do cook roasts on occasion... Roast beef last Sunday, roast spuds, roast carrots home made yorkies.. Home made gravy..

That's about it..

Christmas Day .. Home Alone.. not sure if I can be bothered doing all that for one..

Not allowed Christmas Pudding, Mince Pies, Custard, Chocolates, Dates, Sweets..

So a small Oloroso at lunchtime and a couple of bottles of beer in the evening , perhaps a sneaky Drambuie..

Few Twigglets.. Some nuts...

Boxing Day.. off to see Millwall get stuffed...

Foxy..

P.S. Can't even eat Humbugs..

I like my veg steamed or roasted, unless it's bubble then it can be fried. I don't mind sprouts with poultry but I find them a little bland if over done. I personally would roast up some parsnips and carrots in honey and serve them with a nice homemade cranberry sauce. What does everyone think of yorkshires with a Crimbo lunch? Yay or nay?

    • I had a leaky toilet cistern and Niko came out the same day and not only fixed the leak but thoroughly cleaned off the years of calcium build-up. His attention to detail was matched by his kind humanity. The result was a completely renovated toilet which has never worked more efficiently as well as 'service with a smile'. MANY THANKS NIKO!!!
    • I am trying to find out about people's experiences of the 4+ and 7+ assessments. I am a teacher and have a wealth of experience tutoring for theses assessments (including my own son), but it's always good to keep on top of things as they always make tweaks to them. TIA!

    • "You have no idea why"   To be fair Sue, it's blindingly obvious to anyone who has a conversation with anyone who isn't a Corbyn supporter. And even some who liked Corbyn (like me initially) found him somewhat flaky even at his most popular But let's say you are right and I have NO idea why anybody might not vote for him. They still didn't vote for him. He lost two elections. The second one badly (and strongly predicted but the stubborn old goat wouldn't budge so we we were stuck with Johnson and another 3 million PMs in the 5 years that followed) So even with ZERO evidence, we have our eyes and ears and brains But we do have evidence   https://yougov.co.uk/politics/articles/27022-their-own-words-why-voters-abandoned-labour
