Hello,

My fianc? and I are having building work done to our flat in SE5 (Grove Park) and need to move out for about 6 months.

We'd really like to stay close by. We're looking for at least two bedrooms and could cope with either furnished or unfurnished. We are very responsible tenants/house-sitters. Please get in touch if you know if something that might be suitable.

Thanks,

Liz

Hi Liz

When do you need this to start? I am doing my maternity leave abroad so my flat will be free for 6 months from early March. It is:

- In SE21, 78 square meters, fully furnished (2 double beds, wardrobes, cupboards, desk, bookshelves, all kitchen utensils, 1 large sofa, 1 sofa bed, dining table etc)

- 12 mins walk from West Dulwich station (11 mins to Victoria), 8 mins walk from West Norwood station (20 mins to Victoria, 30 mins to London Bridge, 13 mins to Clapham Junction, commuter trains to Kings Cross), 4 mins walk from Rosendale pub, 8 mins walk from Tesco & restaurants at West Dulwich. Hail and ride 233 bus from the front door (goes to Clapham Common / Brixton or Crystal Palace)

- Free on street parking

- 2 large double bedrooms both with built in wardrobes, 1 bedroom that estate agents call double but I would say comfortably accommodates a single or 3/4 sized bed and wardrobe.

- Original wood floors throughout.

- Fully insulated throughout including floors, double glazing throughout. Gas central heating. My heating bill is about 35 pounds per month in winter & the place is warm.

- Brand new fitted bathroom.

- Brand new fitted kitchen.

- Garden approx 60 sqm

If this sounds like what you might be looking for I'd be happy to share some photos / show you round. The bathroom is being fitted as we speak so we're a bit at 6s and 7s at the moment but you will get the idea...

    • I would leave London, or at a push move back to north London. In SE London if you want to get away in a car you are trapped, always an hour to go the first 10 miles, chugging up to the M4 or round the south circular, which is really just a line someone drew connecting a load of roads. and I know there are trains but first you have to get to those mainline stations, unless you only want to leave London to go to Kent. which I don't.
    • It was you who  made it personal in the first place,  Jazzer. You said you didn't feel safe in the streets,  and you said you didn't go to Central London because you didn't feel safe there. So are you now saying that wasn't "personal"? "Fire from the hip." Another interesting choice of words 🙄 I'm not "demanding" anything! I asked you some perfectly reasonable questions in  response to your own statements. None of which you have answered. Never mind. It seems to be pointless having a discussion with you. It's long past my bedtime. I'm going to turn on my sleep app  and go to sleep 😴💤
    • Hi Forumites, This afternoon someone in a dark blue/black saloon car collided with my parked car on Thompson Road, SE22 9JR. I have a neighbour’s doorbell cam footage of the collision at 14:30 19/09/2025 but am unable to identify the registration plate. If anyone has footage of a car travelling down Thompson Road towards Crystal Palace Road at that time please PM me. Of course if the Perp would like to confess they can also PM me. Thankyou.
