Our brilliant nanny looking for extra hours

Hello everyone,

We have an excellent nanny who is looking to add some extra hours during school time. Preferably 8-2ish in the Peckham/Camberwell/East Dulwich area.

Shelly looks after our incredibly lively, inquisitive 5 year old Mon-Fri from 3 until the evening but would like to help out another family during the week.

She would be a perfect fit for anyone who is freelance, or anyone needing bit of extra childcare for their under 5s.

Originally from up north, and from a large family, she?s got an incredible amount of experience with children of all ages and temperaments.

Shelly has been with us for a year and a half and she?s done a top job of being superbly flexible and patient with the erratic freelance hours of both my husband and myself.

She?s available now and I can?t recommend her enough! Snap her up!

Additional info:

Shelly is a very down to earth, warm and intelligent woman and our son adores her.

10 years child care experience

Ofsted registration is in process

CRB checked

infant and child first aid

worked with newborns to 14 years

full, clean uk driving licence

worked with special needs

wide experience in a range of sleep routines and training

happy to help with domestic chores (cooking, laundry, errands)

In her own words:

"I am an extremely reliable 27 -year-old with lots of get up and go and a passion for looking after children which I?ve done for 10 years, both as a nanny and with my brothers and sisters. (I?m the middle child in a family of 5). I have found it very rewarding to be one-on-one with children and foster their development. I?m organised, prepared and experienced at looking after babies and young children, and feel I have a sensitive and intuitive nature with them. I?m very sociable and am calm under pressure. I?ve been lucky to work with some lovely families, all of which would give me glowing recommendations?

    • Typically the way 'family run businesses' operate is either to have family members continue the business, or to sell on, either as a site (in this instance) or as a going concern. Either which way this is the way the owners create a 'pension' from the business. The number of suggestions as to alternatives makes me feel that the market for small repairing garages locally may be well served, so selling on the site makes the best financial sense for the owners. It's a sign not of the times but of normal business realities.
    • I agree it's a shame, but it is not a "sign of the times", unless you think that up to now people have never grown older and retired!
