Motorbike covers stolen

Last night some tosser decided to steal the silver Oxford covers from our two motorbikes.

If by any chance you saw someone with dirty, wet, petrol stinking covers stumbling around Rodwell Road last night, pass on my kind regards.

You are probably the same person who took the kickstarts last year. Your mother must be so proud.

Anyone out there with covers, can I suggest you paint a stupid big house number on them to discourage this. Apparently they have value to someone...

We're lucky enough to be able to rent garages.

But yes we do paint the reg numbers on our bike covers.

sorry to hear that, eels. when you get a new one, unless you plan on moving soon, take a sharpie marker to it: your postcode in big letters. might deter the opportunistic toe-rag.

We bought green canvas covers, with brass eyelets around the edges. Just big enough to slip a small padlock through. Reg and postcode marker penned on the side is a good idea too.

Years ago a company in North Wales called Classie Covers made made-to-measure bike covers, which included two eyelets situated at the front of the cover through which you could thread your D-lock through the cover and the front wheel. Clever, eh? Then I got rid of the Morini Excalibur and never got another cover from them! But that is an idea, to make a hole either side of the bit that goes over the front wheel so you can thread the lock through it.

I wouldnt recommend painting your house no on as then they will know which house to break into for the keys!

There is a water-proof sheet you can get from Screwfix which has eyelets about 20 quid last time I bought one.
