David is right - that's the recipe for Napalm-B or "super-napalm" as used in Veitnam.

How to Recycle Polystyrene: Dissolve in benzene, add a trace of manganese anti-polymerisation catalyst then distil at one atmosphere to yield "styrene oil" - a diesel fuel substitute.

Didn't know that, did he?

Steve,

It's also highly volatile and anyone stupid enough to try would probably end up in A&E with 90% 3rd degree burns. So, there's my warning and disclaimer. For educational purposes only.

Whilst I wasn't aware of HAL's method, my local access to trace manganese anti-polymerisation catalysts has recently been compromised due to excess napalm production and MI5 surveillance.

Oh, and I can spell Vietnam too.

Not to worry, recently declassified copper polymerisation inhibitors work just as well.

Don't you know anything about MI5 surveillance? That isn't a typo, it's an ECHELON countermeasure - Vietnam and napalm in the same sentence: you'll have every spook in Christendom crawling up your exhaust port!

    • I found two Bolivian children's passports, pristine on the pavement in our suburban street. Concerned for the owners, I notified the police. They were rude and dismissive so I contacted the Bolivian Embassy who were helpful, grateful and keen to have them back.
    • Yes ofcourse was just taking a chance someone may see it and I could give it directly to them, when you send back to passport office they don't inform the person they have received it... dropped off to police station now
