Vickster
We paid for our nanny to become registered when she joined us so that we could use the childcare vouchers we get through work towards her salary. It was my understanding that the approximately ?100 fee paid for the registration, CRIB checks and first aid certificate. I had thought at the time that this was a one off charge, but the registration is up for renewal at a cost of ?103. Having just called Ofsted, they were unable to explain what this cost covers, as none of the checks are required to be re-done, unless our nanny's circumstances change. We are now doing a share so the cost will be split, but this sum significantly eats into the tax benefits that childcare vouchers bring, that are absorbed by a greater number of people where families use childminders or nurseries instead. Assuming this is not just me and others are required to pay this charge? Sqiggles
We recruited a nanny who was already ofsted registered but then had to pay her annual reistration fee. I can't rememeber how much it was exactly, but it was about ?100.
