rabbitears
> Hi Mick Mac,> You think something happening once every 82 years> makes it a hotspot?Or to think of it another way: on a street with 82 (notional) houses, one of them will get burgled every year. Pocket
Amazing it's number one. Especially seeing as though it must have the highest proportion of affluent stay at home mothers in the whole country. Maybe the burglars strike during Gail's opening hours. Earl Aelfheah
Looking at the crime map it appears that for burglaries, ED is above the Borough average and the Village significantly so. I agree with James that the stats used in that article are dubious, but it does still seem that burglary is a particular problem in this part of the borough. DaveR
It's a good idea to be alert to the potential misuse of data and statistics, but equally, to say:"Clearly the stats are meaningless..."requires a little more foundation than "as they require self selection".However, it would be useful to know the difference between 1st place and say 200th place in terms of frequency, and also the variability over time, before getting worried/complacent about the present risk.
