I will need to get a taxi tomorrow from Evelina Children's hospital, behind St.Thomas's at Westminster Bridge. Just wondering if anyone else has booked one from there that supplied car seats, before I start ringing round all the ones I find on Google. I know Dulwich cars have car seats so I could call them to come get us but if one was local it might be quicker.

Hi - we've done the return trip from the Evelina a few different ways. Used a black cab with the pram which seems to go pretty well. If you use the Gett Taxi app you can choose a fixed fare - usually costs about 18 pounds or so which is actually cheaper than some of the private cabs.

We've also used a company called Exclusive airports (except they do other trips too!) if you know the time you need them. We used them to get there from East Dulwich and they're so easy to book online with a carseat. although I suppose you might as well use Dulwich Cars if you were going to go this route.

Not sure if this was helpful at all! But hope all goes well for the hospital visit.

    • Well I did say I stand to be corrected! Fair enough, their website only seemed to list three branches. Perhaps it's a franchise model?  It's known as 'agglomeration' in economics Rookie error.
    • I didn't know there was a word for that — thanks!
    • This is just normal business behaviour. That's why there are so many coffee shops in ED and shops selling gifts and interiors stuff, clothes, restaurants.  If there's more than one business of a similar type then it can benefit all of them up to a saturation point and keep up quality. It's all sounding like many think Chango has made a malicious move when it actually sounds like it's owned by one guy who has a good business that has done well.   Anyway this is all great advertising for both empanada places. Very close by is the organic grocer who sells really good value and very tasty samosas and other Indian snacks which are also worth trying.
