Imperial may well have an institutional subscription.I've been learning Matlab recently and have found that it is hard going but worth persevering. Stack overflow is a good place to ask questions but usually you'll find that someone else has already asked the question and you can just pick up the snippet of code and tweak it to fit what you are trying to do.
