Barry Rhode
Hello everybodyToday I received a letter explaining that there are thieves in the area targeting BMWs for parts, especially bumper assemblies and alloys. They suggest using locking wheel nuts and may offer marking kits.I already have original wheel locking nuts but I want to add some new ones I just bought.I just tried to remove a standard nut from each wheel on my car and the six inch socket extension I was using sheered off! The nuts are on solid!I was using a torque wrench so there was plenty of leverage. When I tried the spanner in the tool kit I also couldn't get the nuts off!I was wondering if there's anyone in the area who has something stronger than a Kamasa socket set I could borrow for 20 mins.Specifcally a six to nine inch extension for a 3/8" square driveThanksb Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/9340-bmw-letter-from-the-police-and-tool-assistance/ Share on other sites
reetpetite
Might be worth dropping into Kwik Fit for them to undo your wheelnuts ,I'm sure they would do them for you for a 'drink'. The Eye
Avoid Kwik Twit like the Plague. They damaged my friends front suspension and wheel alignment after an engine overhaul and she ended up having to pay for it after a competent mechanic had explained what had happened in the Hick Fit garage. reetpetite
I doubt they can do much damage undoing a few wheel nuts ,there have been a lot of recommendations on this forum for the East Dulwich branch. Huggers
If you can't get your normal nuts off, sounds like thieves wouldnt get your nuts off either. I have also used local neighbourhood garages and had my car knackered.Broad brushes eh?
