I trying to find a place to hold drinks/canap?s evening for friends, say for about 30 people, Clapham would be better I think for other people out of the area to get to and convenient enough for Dulwich lot. Any suggestions for a private room? I looked at a few online but these are either loud bars or rooms in pubs/restaurants with very high minimum spends. Central London would be ok too I think but more local would be easier. Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

I recently look at some venues and here are some that I found. you can rent out the Lido in Brockwell. (herne Hill). In Depftford you can rent out the top part of the Red Bus, and then there is usually a DJ in the bottom part. the IvyHouse in Nunhead has a room where you can eat/ use for a party.

there were pubs on Lordhsip Lane that had rooms, but you cannot usually do just canap?s. (Exhibition) .

If I think of any more will let you know.

Another option is to use your own space if possible and hire in a caterer / bar person to serve cocktails.

    • I was not suggesting anything else!   I'm not sure how you interpret what I said  as "irrelevant"? I was responding to a post saying that Corbyn was "unelectable". My point was that a  large number  of the electorate  voted for him!
    • that's exactly what happened - Brickhouse were forced to close due to rent hike and then Gail's didn't move in until covid restrictions lifted and normality resumed. Gail's would have opened much sooner as they were lined up and able to offer the landlord much higher rents. Brickhouse was a local favourite
