SeanMacGabhann
The catherine Bennett article?? It was twaddle, basically saying unless you are a columnist your opinion doesn't mean squatbut then again reading her usually gives me a headache Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/9491-rod-liddle-to-become-indy-editor/page/2/#findComment-286578 Share on other sites

That said, Liddle really is a tit and a half.As for the Catherine Bennett article - she's very far from being the first person to say it, and am inclined to agree with her in regard to the need to toe the middle-class liberal line. However Sean's right - it does ring a little hollow when journalists claim that only their views count, and not the views of the unwashed masses (please don't stop reading me, please don't stop loving me)When the right-wingers become as prevalent online as the bleeding hearts, that's when we'll get some interesting debate. But they're probably all too busy out ripping foxes to shreds with their slavering dogs to fritter away time on t'internet ;-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/9491-rod-liddle-to-become-indy-editor/page/2/#findComment-286637 Share on other sites
Roll Deep
I'm still scratching my head as to why so many proponents of the Indie's 'liberal' stance in British media have avoided the fact that the broadsheet in question is owned by a former KGB agent. As liberal as The Lubyanka, it would seem. mockney piers
Ooh. Being interviewed on five live as we speak. Denying getting the job by the sounds of things, though not actually saying as much. He's used the 'g' word though and that's made me laugh. Brendan
I liked this, "A national newspaper edited by an iconoclast determined to challenge the tyranny of the liberal metropolitan elite would have been a real addition to the national conversation, not least because Liddle's challenge would have come from the left." SeanMacGabhann
Dear god. That's possibly the worst article I have read in a long time.
