rainbow
My son managed to pick a chair with chewing gum to sit on, I'm struggling to get them off his school trousers. Any advice? Pickle
I seem to remember my Mum used to put it in the freezer, then it was easy to pick off. Good luck! giggirl
Pop them in the freezer compartment and the whole thing should come off in one piece. louisiana
Nail varnish remover? (acetone, a solvent) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/9534-whats-the-best-way-to-remove-chewing-gum-from-clothe/#findComment-285214 Share on other sites
HAL9000
If tempted to use a solvent, first check that it doesn't dissolve the fabric, especially if it contains synthetic fibres. SteveT
If you can't get it out without risking the garment paint a face on it;-) one like this would do it. RosieH
Yep, solvents can work - dry cleaning would do the job. However as it's on school trousers, I'd try giving the freezer a go first of all - cheapest way and works a charm provided there isn't a nap (or sequins) to get caught in the gum. rainbow
Tried putting it in the freezer but still couldnt get it off. It's not a whole piece of gum, its like a thin layer stuck to the trousers, should the freezing method still work?
