  1. No they don't pick up. I walk him to Peckham and home again. It suits me because I get groceries on the way home.
  2. I have a senior rescue that was never socialised as a puppy because he lived on the streets. I've always felt he is missing out because he doesn't play with other dogs and prefers human company. Lots of dogs prefer human company so I'm not saying that's a bad thing necessarily but I wanted to give him the chance to interact more with other dogs in a safe space. I've been trying to get him into daycare for a long time but couldn't find anything. The ones I liked didn't have places. Paws and Pause opened in June (I think) so he has been attending one day a week since then. He is slowly coming out of his shell. Everything happens slowly with a rescue. He looks forward to going and wags his tail and pulls on the lead a bit when we get close. Before signing him up I discussed his needs and the staff understood and have been great with him. The staff play with the dogs and there are different zones - some for for playing and some for sleeping. If I haven't answered your questions then let me know and I'll try again.
  3. Highly recommend this doggy day care outfit in Peckham. They've been in Brixton for a while and Peckham is newish. Still some opening offers to take advantage of. Website below https://www.pawsandpause.co.uk/
  4. Big recommendation for Brodie Marriott She is a fully qualified chiropractor and has been working with animals for 3 years. My story is that I rescued an adult/senior dog a few months ago and he was discovered to have pain in his back and rear legs. His vet put him on pain medication but a friend recommended Brodie. He has been having weekly sessions and I am seeing real improvements. Because he has been trying to protect his back he has tightened all the muscles from his neck downwards. Brodie has loosened him up and the difference is remarkable. If your dog is having movement issues which you're putting down to "old age" and think nothing can be done then consider calling Brodie. Dogs respond really well and it could be a new lease of life for your pet. I have been very moved seeing them work together. The sessions are uncomfortable for him but he puts his trust in her and allows her to touch him in his painful places. I think he knows she is trying to heal him. Aren't dogs wonderful! Brodie's number is 07599 648486. Text her and she will call you. She comes to your house.
  5. I have an urgent need (unhappy dog) so recommendations please.
  6. DM me if you are on this forum. I will need to see ID before returning it.

  8. Another recommendation for Aston. He replaced the hinge on my integrated fridge door when it wouldn't close. It wasn't a straightforward job and the part was hard to source but he made it happen. The cost was very reasonable. He's a real professional and a lovely guy too. Important to remember that he mostly works on his own and is juggling many different clients and expectations. If you WhatsApp him your requirements he will get back to you as quickly as he can.
  9. FOUND Lloyds Mastercard in the name of Andrew something (I can't read it). I will be dropping this into the Lloyds Bank near Dulwich Library if it isn't claimed today (Sunday 16th August)
  10. Also delivering to your doorstep in London https://ortaggi.co.uk/ normally service the restaurant trade
  11. Hello, You may know that there was a fire on Monday in the basement at Peckham Levels. Thank God nobody was hurt and that's the main thing. However, the fire knocked out the electrics so the building has been closed all week. Fingers crossed it will re-open by Friday (14th Feb - Valentine's Day). This means that the businesses will have lost the best part of a week's trading by the time the building opens. That's a blow to small firms - they still have staff to pay and bills to pay. So maybe consider showing your support when the building re-opens to businesses that have had a pretty crappy week. Book a yoga class; get your hair cut; have a drink; something to eat; whatever. Check the website for an opening announcement (soon I hope). Go spread some love and spend some money. https://peckhamlevels.org/
  12. My front door is covered by 2 CCTV cameras which stream live to my mobile and PC. I think they're a good thing. They do act as a deterrent plus I never open the front door until I've checked the camera. Also help out when delivery firms tell you you weren't at home when they called as happened to me last Friday.
  13. Peckham Rye Station a couple of weeks ago
  14. Hi CC1984 - so this is your first post on the forum right? Funny.
  15. Sadly I had exactly the same experience. My annual statement came to something like 86p. I was alarmed/upset. Especially factoring in the cost of the stamp. I am mindful, as others have said, that maybe they don't have the systems to acurately tot up the totals, in which case they should stop doing it. I wanted to clear my wardrobes of a lot of work clothes - which are all very high end - as I don't work any more. My first choice was to give to my local charity shops but, TBH that hasn't worked out for me. At St Christophers I found that they price as a dress as, well just a dress; regardless of whether it is McQueen or Primark. I tried Mary's place down the road but they didn't raise much either and the last time I donated (just last week) the woman gave me a blank stare. I don't care if they are volunteers - good manners cost nothing. Anyway, I reluctantly turned to ebay. I have sold around 15 pieces and made over ?3k. I don't want to turn my back on charity shop giving. I support the important work of St Christophers and now give a monthly donation instead. Also, I was alarmed by what someone said on this thread about some shops giving staff first dibs to cream off the good stuff. Bloody hell - I don't want someone picking up my stuff for a song and then selling on ebay for a profit - I could do that myself. Woould be grateful if anyone has any real insight into where to donate high-end labels. Thank you.
  16. You can use mine if you like - I rarely fill it. PM me if you want my address.
  17. Thank you Bradley - very pleased with my carpet and sofa. A velvet sofa and a cream carpet are not a good combo when you have a dog and they look much better now.
  18. And a nod in the direction of the No Flies hessian shopping bag which is a high quality product, brilliant in every way, and has made my life (almost) complete. Px
  19. Basically Shafiq you've written a glowing review for your own business - well done.
  20. Barry Rd is lethal right now. I see lots of residents going out with shovels and brushes every day. Special mention to the lady in the block of council flats (Hallowell Court) who brushes up the entire length of the estate every day. What a star. Problem is the leaves are wet. The elderly in particular are struggling.
  21. M.R., I don't have any practical advice to offer but, for the record, you don't come across as spoilt to me at all. It's hard to get a foothold today for many many reasons and I hope you can make something work for you. P
  22. Anthony at Oasis - 0208 650 5930 I have constant dental issues due to bad dentistry in the past and Anthony is the best I've found. Have tried many ED dentists and paid a small fortune in the process. Anthony is an ex Royal Navy dentist which I find reassuring; he's focused on fixing teeth rather than upselling whitening. The practice is in Beckenham but worth the journey. Wish I'd gone to him sooner.
