me again - seems no-one can help - but does anyone know how I might find out? I don;t want to complain as such but I could do with knowing when this daytime noise will end. Would the council know?

cheers in advance to anyone with any pointers...

Building works should only ever take place between Mon-Fri 8am-6pm and Sat 8am-1pm.

If building works ever outsid these times complain to Southwark's 24/7/365 noise team 0n 020 7525 5777.

If during these times then I would hope a sensible local chat helps. If not complain to the noise team. No builder should expect residents with kids to move out which is effectively what they are expecting in your case.

Thanks James. I will ask them again. The work is not out of hours it is only that I have a little one. It does make it impossible for him to sleep in the day which is a big prob for us. If they can't say when the noisy work will end (last week they said it would be finished by Friday) I might get some advice form the team.

    • The other thing is that the money the council makes from the festival is not spent in the local area, whereas money made from events in other parks are. Renata Hamvas would have to approve any change to the premises licence before the events team can consider a license for the proposal in the current form. There needs to be an organised local pushback this time, to at least stop that second weekend being granted. I am thinking along the lines of a door to door petition. There are local elections next May. Lot's of opportunity to make this an election issue for impacted wards around the park. Just need to be orgaised.
    • yes.. I think it has. I prefered it when Everyone Active had the contract..and an additional benefit was being able to acess other EA gyms across London. Plus I think the equipment in the gym was of better quality.

Are we?) it just happens to be the bbc and only the bbc copping the flak headnun - I’m not sure your point about despicable people “hanging themselves” holds up in a world where despicable people appear to be taking over in so many places  for too long, these people have been given equal airtime to normal people, creating a false equivalence - the result being a lot of people seem to think “well if one person thinks smoking is bad for you and one person thinks it’s good for you, who am I to say who is right and wrong”
