bodsier
I have been holding out on the whole computer game craze, but my son does use my iPad which I think he is addicted to. So I am loathed to buy an Xbox. However, I have been informed that iPads are more addictive, and less easy to control the time spent on them as they are portable. Please let me know your experience please. Thanks Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/95973-x-box-v-ipad/ Share on other sites
bawdy-nan
A very good alterntive is to go for an x-box kinnect which you control by moving your body around. You can also play the ordinary games but there are many (very good fun) get up and move about games (dancing, sport, old fashioned arcade, surfing, be a monster, move and play in a cartoon world, wield a light sabre / Harry Potter wand). I think Kinnect is slightly sneered at by proper games people and the games are generally geared towards kids but that's no bad thing.Xbox use in our house tends to be limited because its hooked up to the family TV in the sitting room and can't, therefore, be used without the consent of everyone. I find ipod/pad use more insidious because it can be always on and can be used in bedrooms etc. . I have to be much more strict and aware of that. Plus, you have to be much more vigilant about social media use etc Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/95973-x-box-v-ipad/#findComment-967112 Share on other sites
bodsier
Thanks Bawdyman I think you are right about the ipad. However,I think he may balk at the idea of the kinnect, he may be a little too old for the games you mention, but I will take a look.
