Travelling to Tenerife at Easter and on my return date I'll be 32w1d pregnant. All fine with airline and midwife but my work leisure travel insurance won't cover past 28 weeks.

Has anyone had this situation and could recommend a company that'll cover me? I'm going to try and endorse my current annual but would like an alternative option.

Thanks all!!

Was going to suggest price comparison sites as well. If you need emergency healthcare you definitely don't want to be worried about cost if it's not covered! Also have you signed by for your EU health insurance card? Finally don't forget to carry your maternity notes and ensure you know where the nearest hospital/emergency care is. And then relax and enjoy the holiday :)
Got my EU card, notes and midwife letter. My business travel is fine with all of that but my leisure doesn't cover 12 weeks before (and after!) EDD. Most stop at 28, some at 32, I'm a day out! AllClearTravel cover up to 36 weeks though, and look reasonably priced so going to go with them. Thanks to all for their messages! Xx

    • Who was Diana Rayworth, when 'resting from acting'. Her successful career was very sadly cut short following a devastating accident.
    • thanks Jenijenjen and all - yes, i remember walking or taking the bus from the elephant (where i was working) to Camberwell to get there.  I think Tim - who's still at Franklin's -  was there in those days, and the woman who ran the cafe!  Other food places that i remember fondly are the ones in Neal's Yard (with the Hunkin sculpture that you could put a coin in ) and the basement lunch place at the Tottenham Court Road junction with Hanway Street...
    • Did you try the emergency number posted above? It mentions lift breakdowns over the festive period outside the advertised  times. Hope you got it sorted x
    • People working in shops should not be "attempting to do the bill in their head." Nor if questioned should they be  trying to "get to an agreeable number." They should be actually (not trying to) getting to the correct number. I'm afraid in many cases it is clearly more than incorrect arithmetic. One New Year's Eve in a restaurant (not in East Dulwich but quite near it) two of us were charged for thirty poppadoms. We were quite merry when the bill came, but not so merry as to not notice something amiss. Unfortunately we have had similar things happen in a well established East Dulwich restaurant we no longer use. There is also a shop in East Dulwich which is open late at night. It used not to display prices on its goods (that may have changed). On querying the bill, we several times found a mistake had been made. Once we were charged twice for the same goods. There is a limit to how many times you can accept a "mistake".  There is also a limit to how many times you can accept the "friendly" sweet talking after it.
