Sorry just changed the title to wanted to get a bit more attention.

Hi,

Looking to have a party and would like to have either a live band playing 70's or 80's or

a DJ doing likewise with a bit of recent stuff thrown in for the young uns. If anyone has any

suggestions or recomendations locally I would be most grateful.

Cheers

I'll second Bare Groove for a bit of a boogie.

But would just ask the question, does it have to be one or the other? Nice to have a DJ spinning a few party favourites (like Bare Groove though I do, I can't imagine them doing Hit Me Baby One More Time - or have I missed something fairly spectactular..?) Or even set up a playlist on an ipod and have a live band (think you can set it so that they mix into each other rather than having a gap between songs, or have I imagined that?)

Hi, I am in Bare Groove so declaring that from the off.

As Rosie said, it doesn't necessarily have to be one or the other, we play music between sets, and let people choose the type of stuff they want.

However, not every event suits a band, and not every venue suits a band! If you'd like to discuss options with me, send me a Private Message on here, or email us via our website. No worries if not though, a band does tend to be a big thing, and not every party suits it.

Rosie, believe it or not, Baby one more time did use to be in our set, it was a reggae, rock, pop fusion like nothing you've ever heard before! ... It hasn't been in our set for over a year though, so not sure what that says about it.

    • I was amazed to see a young nuthatch crawling headfirst down a the trunk of a tree in my garden to bully the great tits and blue tits off the bird feeders yesterday.  Didn't expect to see one this far from the woods.
    • some titles are "protected" ie you have to have certain qualifications and be registered with the supervising council https://www.hcpc-uk.org/about-us/who-we-regulate/the-professions/ Dietician is registered and protected Nutricionist is neither. Anyone can claim to be a nutricionist or chiropracter etc
    • It didn't occur to me to ask. No idea if dieticians are employed within the NHS. It is just one line of enquiry among others. The GP mentioned it, not me.
    • I thought the most they sell in terms of hot food at londis is like pastries and sausage rolls and for hot drinks its like costa coffee but its always a convenience store. Doesn’t look too bad in my opinion considering that shop has been closed down ever since i moved here
