Hello fellow forumites, I would just like to let you all know I traded something with Ceri (forum name ckophotography) for one of her home baked cakes and it was sooo delicious I had to post it here. It was truly the most delicious carrot cake I have ever tasted, beatifuly moist and the cream cheese frosting was perfect with it. She says she can do just about any kind of cake so will be sampling her specials.

So if you are looking for a tea time treat, or maybe to serve at a dinner party or kids birthday or anything really, you never need an excuse to eat cake, look no further.

Thankyou lilysmummy for this lovely recommendation! Some other forumites have now tried my cakes and enjoyed them as much as you did.

I've also just discovered the most delicious lemon curd recipe and am thinking of possibly making citrus curds (lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit) and jarring them up for other forumites... And obviously it's delicious in the middle of a cake or filling the centre of cupcakes!

For anyone interested in my home baking journey, here is the original thread.

Thanks again!

    • Thanks penguin  always wondered about that place and that’s way more info than I ever thought I would get  (used to live above a gun nut on friern road - he would tell me nothing)
    • There was a Saturday afternoon crowd of enthusiasts, and at other times the owner might have been off acquiring stock. He also repaired air guns, which he also sold. He stocked edged weapons, uniforms, including antique uniforms, air guns and ammo and starting pistols and shot. Some medals and other militaria. Quite a lot of ex service chit chat on a Saturday. I had an amateur interest, didn't deal a lot, in English pattern swords and other mainly 19th century militaria. And made some good purchases there. I'm afraid WWII and later events was the major focus of most of the regulars.
    • Did anyone actually venture in to that place? I recall it always being closed/very uninviting!
