????
...that french sounding band with a french sounding singer (female) who did 'loungey' covers of largely 1980s hits (Specials/Undertones are annoyingly the only ones I can actually remember now)....quickly now. SeanMacGabhann
There wasn't just one breathy singer tho - there are loads of them. The joke does wear thin after a while too Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/9720-help-name-of-band/#findComment-289596 Share on other sites

ruffers
The bloke who is the band always tried to get vocalists who've never heard the song so they'd approach it as fresh as possible. I first heard them through their cover of Marian by the Sisters. It's nowhere near as good as Scooter's... 5imon
pff..they are a complete one trick pony.i was just going to write that I didn't know how they've managed to sustain the conceit for ..what is it...6? albums then i remembered: they don't write their own stuff.if this is the result of physical purchases, legalise piracy says i. HonaloochieB
They're a 'five pint' kind of group. When I've had a few they seem marvellous fun, when cold sober I wouldn't know because I've never heard them in that particular condition. And on pissed-up reflection, I don't think I'd want to hear them sober, and I reckon they wouldn't want me to either.I'll feckin' lounge version Guns Of Brixton, you, you bastards. Jaysus it wasn't that good first time around. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/9720-help-name-of-band/#findComment-290031 Share on other sites
