Its a lovely brooch , but its is costume jewellery. Do you really think I would take an expensive brooch to a charity shop without trying to find the owner. I thought the brooch might have some sentimental meaning.

I don't think you should be donating something that is not yours to a charity shop full stop. Expensive or not.

As said before put a note on a tree/fence on the green or put the jacket back.
