Recommended Posts

FEELING STRESSED? CAN'T TOUCH YOUR TOES? BEEN GOING TO YOGA CLASSES BUT NOT TOO SURE YOU'RE DOING IT RIGHT? Whatever your reason, this two-part course will introduce you to commonly used postures, sequences and breathing techniques. Through individual, partner and group work, you will build a foundation for your future yoga practice

in the company of like-minded beginners.

Katy will help to explore physiological and mental benefits of yoga, how props can be used to elevate and support your practice - and we'll throw in a little sanskrit, history and meditation for good measure.

Each posture will be explored in depth, looking at the benefits, modifications and alignment so you can feel confident stepping out of your shoes and on to your mat.

Saturday 2 and Saturday 9 April 2.30-4.30pm both dates.

It is ?40 for the 4 hours teaching, plus you receive a free class credit worth ?13 to spend on any class at Yogarise.

Yogarise is located in The Bussey Building Peckham Rye, SE15 4ST. Just go to www.yogarise.london for more info, directions and to read more about Katy and the studio. • That explanation sounds highly unlikely!  Surely the "days of the week" plates must be a standard size. I know Royal Mail often appears incompetent, but it  couldn't be that stupid, surely. Was it 1 April?!
    • Looking for a short length of electric (twin & earth)  lighting cable. Most likely there could be some in a skip near you??
    • Southwark's recycling guidance says to put shredded paper in the blue bin in a paper envelope or "small box". I've got far too much of it for that  (confidential stuff going back decades) - thanks to the EDF member who kindly gave me a shredder! It would be a "massive box". I have barely started  the shredding, and I've already got an extremely large bagful.   I've read online that you can put it into  large clear plastic bags in the bin for paper,  provided you  clearly label it "shredded paper" and it is obvious what it is. Does anybody know if Southwark would accept it like that? Alternatively, can anyone make use of it for animal bedding or packaging material or adding to  compost?
    • I'm happy to report that some foxgloves are now looking great in my garden. The bees are loving them. Also managed to grow some corn poppies from seed. I've left some decaying logs in the corner so maybe there are some stag beetles there.
