Hi - I'm trying to organise a Saturday night away in a hotel before me and my friends have our second babies. We're looking for somewhere between London and Leeds (maybe Midlands?) that we can all get the train to within a couple of hours, that has a spa and a nice restaurant that we can have dinner in on the Saturday night. We're not looking for a hardcore spa type place, just somewhere not too pricey where we can catch up and chill out. There are so many on the net and wondered if anyone had any recommendations. Thanks

It's not in the right area but I just went to Alexander House Hotel and Utopia Spa in West Sussex (nr Gatwick), it was lovely and the spa facitilites are great. not sure the offers are available on saturday nights but we paid ?99 for dinner, bed and breakfast plus use of the spa.

Fawsley Hall in Northamptonshire is lovely http://www.fawsleyhall.com/. It's really gorgeous without being pretentious and uber trendy. It would be fairly central for you all although not too sure of the nearest station ?Daventry. I think they're doing some good offers at the moment too.

I second recommendation of the Ragdale Hall, really beautiful, stunning spa with plenty of outdoor space for long walks. Love all the various treatments on offer.

It was also awarded the best spa of the year, definitely worth the visit, you will not be disappointed. We're also off soon in a couple of weeks time : )

    • As I said, it was my understanding. I worded it very carefully. I didn't/don't know for sure, so clearly not a fact. And hardly an "opinion", which is something completely different. You have no idea what reason anybody might have had for not voting for him (unless you can point to some opinion poll results which actually asked people?)
    • Also, just to add, the threat to kill someone's dog and try to kick it, is an additional extremely unpleasant layer. I have noticed a lot of the burst water balloons lying around in the park too- that is not great for the environment either.
    • I’m basing it on the fact that Jeremy Corbyn had repeatedly and on record said he is against mandatory vaccinations in any situation, and he wouldn’t disclose wether he had the Covid vaccine himself    as I said. Not as bad as his brother but very definitely a bit weird about the whole thing. Just say you had the vaccination Jeremy, say that everyone should and stop being weird in the middle of a global pandemic    it’s the same slippery evasive nonsense about Brexit and him. About Putin poisonings and him.     if you are happy with his evasiveness then you do you.  But there is a reason the country wouldn’t get behind him
