I popped in last night for a chat..

They have an extensive selection of Wines Spirits and Liqueurs..

Indeed a very large bar.

I hope to be there shortly.

Attended opening night..

Very busy and had to wait for seat as only 6 and 8 seat booths available.

Eventually got seated in 6 seater booth.

Poppadoms arrived about 4-5.. with chutneys.. and a large 650ml bottle of Kingfisher.

My order of Mushroom? Rice, Chicken Tikka Madras and Naan bread. took a little time.

it was very good but the curry was served a little cold.

All in all the food was good but was a little rushed as 6 people were waiting to be seated

in the booth I was solely occupying.

My bill was ?12.75 after 40% discount on food.

I wasn't complaining. Just making an observation. You were busy and I was happy to give up the space

I was occupying so that 6 people waiting could be seated unlike the 2 people sitting at a smaller table

refusing to move having already finished their food and paid up..

But then I'm a reasonable sort of fellow. So Alice, give us a break.

ETA ..and Memsaab I did not book because I was in your restaurant the night before you opened having a drink

and told you I was coming in opening night and would be there at 8.00pm

    • Hi all, I’m considering purchasing a leasehold flat on the Dog Kennel Hill Estate and am feeling a bit spooked by things I’ve seen about the spiralling debilitating costs of major and cyclical works levied at leaseholders by Southwark council (and councils in general). Especially as there is a ton of new regulation coming down the line for social housing, I am a bit concerned about my ability to pick up the leaseholder share of the cost of some of those mandated works for social tenants. I wondered if anyone knows if there have been major works done on the estate in recent years before I get too far down the line with the purchase process. Or if anyone is aware of any that might be coming. Or has any experience of recent costs from Southwark council with properties on similar estates. The estate agents have obviously told me that everything’s been brought up to code so there’s no plans in the works but we all know what estate agents are like…grateful for any experiences or feedback anyone is willing to share!

    • Re dogs: Goose Green is fully fenced - plenty of dogs.  While Peckham Rye isn't fully fenced, it is very large - so if your dogs like to run, but will come back when called they can get a lot of runaround there (again plenty of dogs),  and as a Melbournite - you can barrack for the SE London Giants aussie rules team there too. As an aussie now in ED a few years, love the area.
