Soft play parties at Peckham Pulse - recommended
mich replied to esme's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I had my daughter's first party here (in 2009) and loved it. We was able to have the party room for 2hours as there was no other party booked after and the lady allowed us to do a double slot at no extra cost. -
Oh the joys of carrying that big bottle. I had traces of protein in my urine throughout most of my pregnancy so had to have my bp checked frequently which was always normal. And although protein showed up in my 24hr sample (which i collected at home) it wasn't too much for them to worry. They said my kidneys were probably leaking slightly which was nothing to cause major concern. A suggestion if they do suggest having your bp checked frequently. Go to your doctor or a local pharmacist rather than the bp clinic at the hospital. you can be waiting hours up there as it is first come first served basis. my pharmacist charged ?1.50 each time but was happy to pay this rather than spend forever sitting in the hospital.

We currently.giving lo gripe water and have found that this is much more effective than the infacol. we did however have great difficulty getting hold.of the gripe water. seems to be out of stock in all supermarkets and boots etc. a chemist and was told someone came in an hour before me and bought up the last 6 bottles, so not sure if this is going to be discontinued. finally managed to get a bottle from Sheel pharmacy on ununhead lane, so your best bet is to try a local chemist.

Thanks everyone. I have no real concerns just a little more anxious hoping all is going to go well. I've had 2 very close friends lose there babies recently so am naturally a little more apprehensive. I think purchasing a :-) doppler may begin as fun but as you have suggested could in actual fact completely freak me out. I'll stick to the excitement of waiting for my appointments and the joy of hearing the heartbeat then. Once again thanks for the comments :-)

They sell this in the Aylesham Centre (next to Morrisons) in Peckham. There is a nick nack shop next to the opticians.

My dd used to refuse to take the medicine from the syringe or a spoon until i used to pretend that I couldn't do it by myslef and I needed her to help me as she is such a big clever girl. The fact that she thought that she was helping me really seemed to work and touch wood we have never had a problem giving her medicine since as long as we remember to get her to help us put the spoon in her mouth or to help us to push the syringe. Lots of praise after for helping us out always puts a smile on her face. Good Luck!

I'm a really fussy eater but for my usual starter I usually have half a grapefruit, or brussel pate and some melba toast.

Thanks for all the feedback - went to Soup Dragon and my daughter is now a proud owner of a pink mini micro!! She keeps calling it her motorbike too - which is a lil worrying, ha ha

Have you ever been refused entry to a fitting room with a buggy?
mich replied to Belle's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Yes, I had the same problem with Primark a few months ago, my daughter was in the buggy asleep and the man told me to carry her in!! With that I politely dumped the clothes on him and walked out!! -
Does anyone know of a chemist open today in the area?
mich replied to The Nappy Lady's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Kristals Pharmacy on Nunhead Lane (next to Ayre's the Baker's) is usually open on bank holidays, their number is 020 7639 2614 -
Fingers crossed I don't have this problem with my daughter, she's 2 and starts nursery full time on Tuesday. I took her on Friday for a couple of hours and explained to her from the night before that when she wakes up in the morning, we will put her uniform on and she will go to nursery, mummy is going to say goodbye to her, she is going to play and have lunch at nursery and when she finishes her lunch mummy will be back to pick her up. I was all prepared for her to cry when I left and cling onto me - huh - who was I kidding she waved me off with a big smile and said see you later mummy - weep weep, my little girl is all grown up!! Wonder if it will be a completey different story come tuesday - she's there from 8am - 6pm :( , I really hope not as I am feeling ever so guilty about leaving her for so long, but after 2 years at home with her it's time to go back to work. She woke up this morning and pulled out her uniform asking if she can go to the nursery's house and play with her friends, so she is keen to go back. Good luck to you all getting your lil un's settled - wish me luck too ::o

Freezing previously frozen (but cooked) meat
mich replied to Polly D's topic in The Family Room Discussion
It's fine to freeze them, like KateW mentioned defrost them throughly and make make sure you re-heat them properly. But once you have defrosted it, don't re-freeze it!! -

Hi, just wondering if any of the mum's (or dad's) on here have any experience with the Excel II childcare services centre on Sternhall Lane, am looking for a place for my DD who is 2, we live in the Peckham/Nunhead area so am looking for something quite close to home. Any advise would be greatly appreciated, or any input of other private childcare services. Thanks (imposter from SE15!!) :))
