  1. Yes sorry did not want to unnecessarily worry you. We had x Rays at normal dentist and they asked us to refer to Kings and they advised removal. I know it can be fine (I hoped it would be) But I just wanted to reassure you that if the worst comes to the worst and the tooth goes it's not that bad. But at the time I cried and cried.
  2. Hi, Yes this happened to my son one Easter (though he bumped into a wall not an Easter bunny) Same thing happened - it went grey though no pain. I took him to King's dental department and they advised removal of the tooth to ensure the adult teeth were not damaged. I was upset at the time but now looking back he did look quite cute with a missing front tooth. Now at 9 he has healthy adult teeth. Also he was not bothered by the procedure at all due to the drugs they gave him and we had some interesting conversations on the way home. Good luck!
  3. Hi, I can also vouch for the doubletree. Spacious, helpful and a great location. A bit soulless but the rest of Cambridge is so lovely it doesn't really matter. Have fun!
  4. My son had his 7th birthday recently in colour makes people happy. He had a great time with his friends making spin paintings and simon was great with the kids. The pastries and hot chocolate were perfect too. Can't recommend it highly enough. Pm me if you want more info.
  5. There are no Huggies nappies now! Withdrawn over Europe so they can concentrate on wipes. However I used to swear by Huggies finding them softer than pampers for my now 6 yr old son. But with my baby daughter I have to say supermarket nappies much better than used to be so now use them or else Naty (also much Improved in 6 years) if they're on special. Also can I just say how great Jackson Reece kinder by nature wipes are. I find myself raving in the street about them to complete strangers given half a chance. I stock up,when a third off in Sainsbury's as quite expensive - 2 quid a pack! But great on delicate skin and very moist. I think their branding is a bit off and the bright colours may put people off - look very artificial when in fact the opposite is true. Ok advertorial over. But like I said I'm a big fan.
  6. Hi, We have just had our loft done by Loft Life. It really was not that bad. I had a pre crawling baby and a 6 year old at the time and we managed without a huge amount of disruption. It can be noisy, especially at the beginning. As far as dust, the builders put down plastic covers over the carpet on the stairs and also sealed up doors on days when they broke through. There was still dust, but it contained most of it. They also hoovered every evening before leaving however I still mopped down as well to keep the dust down. The beginning bit before they break through despite being noisy is the least obtrusive for you as it's all from outside. The end bit is also quite easy, as final fit, and plumbing etc is quite contained in the loft. Obviously the plastering causes dust. However we found it dried quickly and as soon as we got the first undercoat on the walls it stopped the dust. PM me if want to know anymore. Good luck. It's great when all done and well worth the hastle!
  7. Hi, My son seems to have problems with even hypoallergenic creams as well. We have found Swiss formula sun cream to be good. We get it at john Lewis. Also it works all day even if you go in water which I find a lifesaver.
  8. Or completely cheat. I saw a willy wonka outfit in window of just William this afternoon!
  9. Hi, I would say don't take it. If you are struggling or feel it's not for you the midwives will help and will be able to Provide milk to top up with if really needed. At Kings they have Aptamil. However if you want a different brand maybe take that. I gave birth there last week and for various reasons (the baby needed x rayed before feeding) was not able to feed my daughter for 4 hours. As a result her glucose levels dropped and they encouraged me to top up with formula for a few days. They provided the small amount of formula I needed. I'm happy to say we are now at home, my milk came in within 48 hours (despite topping up) and I am fully breast feeding my daughter. The help and support of the midwives was great.

    Thoughts...

Hi, I was lucky enough to find a lodger who I sort of already knew when my son was younger (about 3). I charged him a bit less than going rate to make up for noise and sleep interruption, but it definitely helped with the bills and mortgage. It also meant that when my lodger was in I could pop out for milk or anything like that once my son was asleep. My lodger is leaving in a month or so after 27months with us. My son will miss him, and I think my lodger will miss my son too so it can be mutually beneficial. It was a way I could stay in the area and keep my house. I say go for it.
  11. Hi everyone, I am due with my 2nd in november. But with a 6 year gap, and so far a much easier and nicer pregnancy, it feels a bit like a first! I am interested to hear what peoples' experiences at DMC Chadwick Road have been? Last pregnancy I had Lisa Plessy there as my community midwife and she was excellent. However, I don't think she is there now and I have been booked into see someone else there at the end of the month. Should I try and book in elsewhere? After my last pregnancy I am very anxious for everything to go smoothly and as pleasantly as possible. I didn't do NCT last time due to the complications in my pregnancy and not sure I'll do it this time so would be good if there is ever a meet up. I can also recommend Sitarim yoga through King's. Was the only thing that kept me sane last time and really helped in labour. Thanks!
  12. Hi, My son attends reception at Goose Green and is very happy there. He is progressing well and enjoys every part of his day there. The staff are committed and track each child effectively. I can't say enough good things about it. Please feel free to pm with any further questions.
  13. Hi, Just found a children's balance bike in Peckham Rye Park at about 8pm this evening. we found it in the new playground next to the one o clock club. If you think it might be yours please PM me with a brief description of the bike. I hope I can reunite it with the rightful owner. Thanks
