Scribe, the deal for my brother in law started at such an such price and each month was rising about ?5 to the point he got a bill for over ?125 in just one month. Sky can get round this by a tiny tiny little line of text in their 'terms and conditions'. Oh loopholes, clauses and small print! Next for Sky, World domination!

Melbourne Grove do IUD clinic 1 day a month, not sure when (or if anyone would even be interested - lol). This was a year ago when I tried to get one put in. I had such a horrible time, unsure whether its the fault of the surgery, or actually me. I had a trainee doing the procedure, under the watchful eye of the senior IUD 'surgeon', and another 2 people! It took 45 minutes of the lady trying and trying to fit it, me trying to hold back the pain before I was told there was too much scarring from the birth of my daughter to actually put it in. I was told to go home and I would be called with an appointment at Kings. I was never called back, but I'm thankful, I found the experience terrible. This whole thread made me cringe thinking back, but then I just had to comment to stop cringing! Grr. I've stuck to Cerazette for the last 6 months but needless to say that doesn't like me either and I'm about to try something else now I've stopped breastfeeding! Oh contraception, I hate you!

Scribe, same thing happened to my brother in law to the point they took double months bill. He cancelled direct debit and sky called in debt collectors who would not touch it with a barge pole as they believe sky are the ones acting unfairly. They infact suggested sky pay back monies owed!!!

I have to say I'm still in 2 minds but my daughter loves it. It's not that I think it racist it's the rasta cannabis association that gets me. Although you don't see anything like that in the programme.

Are we talking teenage girl? If so, FYI - My best friend had terrible acne and spots on her back throughout school. I had noticed she always let her hair fall down and dry on her back after washing it, IYKWIM? I advised her to wrap her hair in a towel and not to let the damp hair touch her back, she started doing this and the spots on her back disappeared within a few months. She now never gets spots on her back. I noticed spots on the backs of a lot of girls that let their hair dry on the skin as opposed to wrapped up, but never noticed it on girls that tucked their hair up after P.E! Just an idea. My sister is an acne sufferer and has been for all her teenage year (although PCOS runs in my family and I know can cause acne, I always wonder if this is the cause of her acne - I was diagnosed after childbirth, but never had acne myself), she has used a hell of a lot medication and found it never worked. Its real trial and error trying to clear it up. I agree the 'procedures' as opposed to the medications and creams give better results in a lot of people. I would definitely say its worth paying for if you can afford it. My sister is now using the Clarisonic, pricey bit of kit when they first come out, but prices now around ?170. She has noticed results using this system but it has not dramatically reduced the acne, its no longer so red/purple or noticeable as it was before.. Hope some of this info helps.

serious accident on lordship lane (February 10)
GinaG3 replied to dimples's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
It doesn't even need a major overhaul. Could it not be as simple as sticking a few 'wait' buttons and green/red men? Is this just silly of me! Surely they can sync the lights to allow one cross each time the lights allow a gap. It's not like the whole junction needs dug up and put down again, or is it? The problem is the lights never allow for a cross. Saw a mother with a pram trying to cross the other week. Scary, I know the feeling. -
I think they warn on all packages they may pull off paint work etc but are removable..

Does anybody work from home? What do you do? I'm talking these little jobs like avon etc. I'm just so incredibly bored of not having anything to do, with toddler in toe not yet at nursery I am unable to go out to work everyday. I thought it would be nice to have a little extra cash, to go for little treats etc. I've seen Neals Yard selling at home, but you need a set up fee of ?90. I don't think its worth it to be honest. Feel free to give me more ideas of what I can do?!?!

serious accident on lordship lane (February 10)
GinaG3 replied to dimples's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Its dreadful this junction. I think there have been about 10 accidents there in the time I've lived here (not even 2 years yet). I hate the thought of even crossing at the lights so always use the island just before the shops. We had flyers delivered telling us it 'should' (taking into consideration funding) be upgraded by TfL within the next 5 years, this was last year. This incident, I believe involved a bus. Not hard fact though! -
I've just bought wall stickers. They are brilliant (although mine aren't) just thought I would advise you, if your going to buy stickers, go expensive. I paid ?5 on eBay, sent from china. Put up, fell straight back down again, and it took me like 2 hours to peel them all off the backing paper. I'm in love with the ones in QBFoD and other 'expensive' ones I've seen online but I would literally keel over handing over that much money. If anyone has a secret to cheap but quality wall sticker, be sure to let me know. Were in private rent and all white walls *yawn*

Steiner school - would you like to find out more?
GinaG3 replied to cam_beauty's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Agreed Karter, I have friends that went to Steiner school. Very creative people. All of them. I was always jealous of their school holidays, summer holiday for us was 6 weeks they got 9-10. -
Oh my, lots of people. Thought I was the only one. My thing is everything on a slant, I cant do straight unless its flush against a wall. Anything not on a wall has to be slanted and symmetrical. On the fireplace we have these lanterns, I cannot tell you the amount of time I rush to slant them when they are knocked out of place. Ive always had a thing about even numbers, I hate them so I try to stick with odd amounts of things, usually 3 or 5. Its a bizarre thing. Deja vu is more frequent and weird too.

Hi Ladies, Thought I would comment to let you all know whats happened after this thread. Lord knows, it may help some people too. Today its my daughters 2nd birthday and I think our journey has ended. Last feed was last night at 8pm, bedtime. Woke up this morning, been a hectic day all day, but still time for 'boobie' if she had wanted. Never asked once (if your reading this Molly - it kept reminding me of your story!!). Tonight everything died down we wound down for a bit and she tried to ask me to sit down, but I told her she was a big girl now and she could just have milk (in her new Charlie and Lola cup ;-)), gave her the cup which she didn't want and just rocked to sleep singing twinkle twinkle little star. Glorious. No feeding for over 24hrs - milk dried up straight away!! This happened to anyone so quickly, doubt I had much anyway to be honest. For the last few weeks its been so horrible for me, constantly chewing at the nipple. ERGH! I turned round and said I was going to put my foot down and stop the other day to daddy, never, ever thought I would! Anyway I've hit my milestone and just wanted to share, its been really nice journey and would recommend to anyone! Got to go for dinner, no doubt back later. x

Chicken gone bad in Plough Sainsbos
GinaG3 replied to benjaminty's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Often I buy fresh chicken from Sainsburys get it home and its off. Although the sell by date is not yet reached. Probably about ?30 worth of chicken last year. Including my whole Christmas chicken. This is DKH though.. -
Its obscene. I'm dreading school trips now! When I was in year 7 (only about 8-9 years ago) we went on a school trip to wales on a adventure trip. We stayed for 1 week and it cost ?250 everything covered. I think thats fair enough. But ?1500, okay its abroad, they need to cover flights and everything but my goodness. Thats outrageous. Its obvious some parents wont be able to pay to send their child, which could result in teasing at school etc. Its unfair to put such pressure on parents. If they did a school trip for around ?300 and stayed in the country but took them away for 3-4 days that would be a lot better. There must be children that for no fault of their own are excluded from such school trips then in turn are excluded from talking about the trip for the next year! Schools are meant to get every child involved, not push them out for money reasons. Out of interest, do they not offer financial help to lower earning parents if they couldn't afford to send the child on the trip? My secondary and primary school used to by head teachers discretion, although they were in Oxfordshire.

Thank you, will have a check when I'm down there. Just being lazy and not wanting to look around, far too much to do already. Don't even think I'll get round to making the Upsy Daisy cake!

Brilliant thing to do, well done to all those that do and will in the future! Makes a huge difference to most people. I must say, when I had my daughter I saw the leaflet, but couldn't donate. I would of started donating at 6 months and would of donated for the last year and half if I could, but once again you cant. Sad but true, the leaflet gave me a bit of a grin when I read one of the conditions of donating is you cant of been 'paid for sex'. Now this I believe is badly worded. Me and partner joked for weeks after birth that if he bribed sex out of me and bought me a takeaway after this could be seen as 'paying for sex'. Cord blood banking available at Kings worth doing too, would be good if they just banked all 'safe' cord blood after each birth!!

Loving One Born Every Minute tonight....

Keef, I totally missed it too. Cant watch Channel 4 OD on my computer or iPhone - argh! Think they may repeat tomorrow, quite late. Must Check!!! -
Hi ladies, Some of you may know me, others may not. My names Gina, (as you may of guessed) and I'm a voluntary peer counselor at Dulwich Breastfeeding Cafe. Hi to all those that have been in and had advice in the past and everybody else of course! I'm researching a little, and need your help and advice please. All will be taken back to my next meeting concerning how Dulwich BF Cafe is getting on and how everybody feels about it. Were after peoples views on the Cafe environment being a bit clinical and also too small at times (sorry if you've been there when its been extremely busy recently, bit of a squish!). We are perhaps wondering if we should be looking into trying to find a brighter and preferably larger room? Peckham is a brilliant example of what we would expect for Dulwich also. Few posters on the wall, and peoples stories if they would like to share for display. We face one problem, funding. Due to recent cuts we no longer have a budget really so would require the venue for free on Monday mornings between 10-12. Of course we could stay at Townley Road but we are after your views before investigating any further. Realise its a shot in the dark, but something might crop up we just never know. Thanks for reading, all comments or PM gratefully received. Toddler now awake tugging at my arms, if i've forgot anything will add to thi slater. x

Loving One Born Every Minute tonight....
GinaG3 replied to The Nappy Lady's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I longed for my pool birth, planned it all and everything. In really early stages for like 13 hours, then within 2 hours went from 1 to 8 cm dilated and was too late by the time I got to hospital so all I hear is ..."Oops too late, I can see the head, we must start pushing" Ended up still having a brilliant natural labour with my lovely midwife, and probably honestly wouldn't change it for the world. The way it happened or where never mattered once from that point! -
I hated early morning buses! I did it with Lily from 11-14 months. She was exactly as your describing Seb, very clingy and loves to throw tantrums when away from me. I was dreading it but we got on perfectly fine. She just ran about playing with a couple other babies whose mums didn't want them in the creche either. Honestly you will be fine, the group shouldn't mind at all. Your giving up your time and effort, they have to understand the child element. Best of luck with it, it is a very good course in general! Loved every second of it, and made lots of new friends!

Loving One Born Every Minute tonight....
GinaG3 replied to The Nappy Lady's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Ha, same boat as you SW. Want to train, don't want to be in flood of tears at every birth. Infact I don't even think I want to train to deliver the babies I would rather deliver exceptional home visits afterwards! I've dropped my Doula idea as I wouldn't want to take money from vulnerable woman who should be getting the services for free!!!!! -
Ruth who are you training with? Do you know the venue. When I trained last year (with LLLI for Southwark PCT) we had an adjoining room that was the 'creche' I never put my daughter in there at all. Sorry to say she hated it, very clingy too! Leaders were happy for the kids to stay in the room and breastfeed or play whilst we trained. Lily learned it all with me. You should have the option to keep him by you, if that works for you. There isn't a lot of written work or anything so you should be absolutely fine keeping little seb with you. P.S I tried every bribe in the book, it didn't work! If he wants to stay with you, I'd let him to be honest. Well done for doing the training too, definitely worth it. I wouldn't give up my voluntary slot for the world!

One Born Every Minute Christmas special
GinaG3 replied to Smiler's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Ha mrs f. When I was born in 1990 I was only a little off the whole record at the time. I weighed 10lb 10 and my mum had an all natural homebirth in the bath! Bit better than being born on the trampoline like my brother!!!
