I would have thought he,d have kept that ring for his possible daughter, or have it made into a pendant. Might be a nice sentiment his mothers ring etc,but it seems his mothers spectre has just put a wedge between them. I dont know of any woman that would not have liked her own ring.

I think most people forced into this position, would rather go and do cash in hand jobs, pay no taxes and generally slide out of the system and live like old wartime spivs. A few years ago the eastern block people were being picked up as cheap labour on London streets, most even helped to build the Dome. There are even children used as slave labour in the fields.Tax lost is not a good idea. But neither is reducing people to doing menial jobs. Even the prisoners in our jails aare not treated like that. They used to make things for society, now they play games.? How can you take food and comfort away from children.,if their parents refuse to work for peanuts.?

I agree James ,when Penge had no lights we drove right through, to Bromley, mind you their blue lights in trees were only just passable. If its Christmas, and you want to sell goods, then you should go with the flow and make it more atmospheric, comercial or not, everyone enjoys Christmas, Its a significant time for Christians, and they dont mind anyone enyoying it with them, Little kids love decorations, How about solar lights :))

Does anyone know what has happened to the couple that was yachting off the African coast, then captured by pirates. I believe it was a year ago. Have they still got them. If so what is the goverment doing to secure their release.?
