  1. Random request... I had to delete my inbox messages awhile ago and just on the off chance you are reading this, i was wondering if i could grab my Babywise book back that you borrowed when you came to pick up the nappies. Forum, do your thing. Thanks heaps.
  2. I have an Ikea one (with the tray) that one of you would be welcome to for ?5 (save you the trip out to Ikea) :) PM me if your interested.
  3. Hi there, I am currently on day 18 of one called 'The 30 day shred' It is put together by Jillian Michaels, the trainer from The Biggest Loser in America. It is 20 minutes long, has 3 different levels that you go through throughout the month, and i am finding it is toning up quite a lot of 'untoned' (to put it nicely) areas. I got it for ?5 off ebay and am really enjoying it (well as much as you can enjoy putting yourself through pain :) Goodluck with the search
  4. We are going to try the new Gymboree on Mondays in Herne Hill. My little one is 11 months and i think she will enjoy it now she is on the move. Our class is at 10.30, i think. They have a free trial week so you should try it out and see if your little boy would like it. http://www.gymboree-uk.com/franchisee.php?id=132 might see you there :)
  5. I have found this wonderful website and app for my ipod and i thought i would share it with you just incase other people are looking for something like it. www.myfitnesspal.com It is wonderful and easy to use. It is, in basic form, a calorie counter but I have found it really helpful to keep me on track with how much food i eat throughout a day (and it is free). It really has helped me loose some of my baby weight (well actually excessive chocolate eating after the baby weight) and thought others might like to try it. Happy Counting
  6. I was looking to buy some Tupperware the other day, and i'm pretty sure there is no local seller of that. I would throw you your first party to practice on :)
  7. I'm from New Zealand, and we all use a wonderful book called. 'Of course i love you, now go to your room'.. It is really clear at setting out boundaries, learning to use discipline and talks about the different personality styles. Its a really great read and the author, Diane Levy, is a wonderful woman who has spent alot of years helping families to deal with behavioural issues. http://www.fishpond.co.nz/Books/Health_Wellbeing/Family_Relationships/Parenting/9781869415143/
  8. Gripe water is a wonderful invention. If you put it on a sterilised spoon, and put it up to his mouth he should lick it in...like a cat having milk, cutest thing in the world. You can give it before a feed and after, its herbal so there is no over using it. Hope your little one clears up quickly.
  9. Just to let you know, we attempted to go to Toddler World and they have put the price up...something like ?4.50 each..and are now charging for children 6 months and older..so turns out to be an expensive outing when you are taking two little ones. But other than that, i second the Toddler world.
  10. Dulwich Village Preschool has morning and afternoon sessions aswell. It is just along from buds and is a wonderful little nursery. Think it is ?8 per session (2.5 hours)...but don't quote me :) http://www.dulwichvillagepreschool.com/
  11. I found a Green Micro Scooter at Peckham Rye Park this morning, and hope to find the owner via this wonderful forum. If you are missing one or know of someone who has lost one at Peckham Rye park please get them to PM me with their details and the details of the scooter. I know how cherished these are by our little ones (not to mention expensive) and have seen a scooter be given back to its owner vis this forum before...so hope we can do it again :) Thanks heaps
  12. feel free to post wherever you like, this is the only area of the forum i tend to use so is the place i thought to put it. good luck removing your trees :)
  13. Sad to see another Christmas go by and the trees start to be put away, but I was just searching Southwark website to find out when the real Christmas Trees can be collected by the refuse men. And thought i would post the page here to save you all spending the time searching for it like i had to. http://wasteservices.southwark.gov.uk/index.asp it says it will be collected on the same day as your green waste and if you put your postcode in it can tell you when that next is. hope you all had a lovely Christmas time.
  14. I got a wonderful cheap set from Argos last year. There is one on Peckham high street and you could reserve it online so you know it won't be a wasted journey. Good luck with the hunt
  15. Just wondering if anyone knows when the real Christmas Trees start arriving on Lordship Lane. I have two little ones who are keen to get the 'Christmas Spirit' into the house and are doing my head in with their dedication to the topic :)
  16. We also use milkandmore for our milk delivery. Think they are great although a little bit unreliable at taking the payment out on the day they say they will...but otherwise great. And the other day i saw that if you sign up on line and use this promotion code YULETEN, you get ?15 i think, off your first order. Good luck
  17. I have a similar frustration when i am trying to teach my kids to not cross the road in front of cars, when there are no crossings around, and then people see us waiting,(and kindly) stop on the road for us to cross. Then the war of, 'you go, no you go, no we are waiting, please go' begins. It kind of defeats me teaching them to wait until the road is clear...but i can see why people do it (and have been known to do it myself...tsk tsk).
  18. Hi there, The new school tops are available to order at the school office (and i think they look great). There are a lot of different colour choices (red, royal blue, pale blue, green and yellow) t-shirts, long sleeved tops and jumpers (they range from ?3.00 to ?4.75 each). Then you can buy any grey skirt or trousers you like...asda and sainsburys have great cheap ones. And all the kids i've seen have black shoes but not sure if this is regulation or not. Hope that helps :)
  19. My theory would be...you've put in all this time and effort...it has to click at some point. Do you let him run around with no pants on, because i'm sure that has helped my two feel the sensation more. Good luck and remember, he will not be 18 and not know how to use the toilet by himself...it is a stage so try not to stress :)
  20. My daughter goes to a ballet class for 3-4 year olds which she adores. Its on a Saturday morning at 9.30am, which is great because it gets it over and done with and then you have the rest of the day free (and to watch the little ones show off their new dance skills). They also have a Tuesday class after school (i think) It is currently being held at the school on the corner of Homestall Road/Cheltenham Road (can't for the life of me remember the name...can anyone else?) The teachers number is 02086646750. Really recommend her and her class.
  21. Thanks for your help everyone...what a wonderful thing this forum can be. Thanks Ludoscotts, i have a friend with a daughter there who seems to love it, so i might look into that as an option. Thanks again
  22. Can i jump in and ask a question too (sorry Ludoscotts) but if you were wanting your little one to go to a school nursery, when would you expect them to get a place. My son will be 3 on the 1st of October, should he get in in the January 2011 intake?
  23. NickW, I think your comment is way out of order and ryedalema deserves an apology from you for the slander and the personal attack. As for...'Your comment epitomizes everything that is wrong with East Dulwich', it may help to have a look in the mirror and see what you see.
  24. O i am so glad you asked this question because a friend and i were just discussing this yeasterday. Would love to get my 4 year old into a class like this too...a bit of everything sort of class.
  25. Sususudio, I am so glad for you that you have peace of mind now, i know how it plays with you. Hope the rest of the pregnancy goes smoothly for you guys.
