  1. What about the number 40 bus? Unanimous opposition on this forum yet silence from Councillors.
  2. It is hard to draw from this thread any conclusion other than widespread and vehement opposition to changing the number 40 bus route. I would hope our local elected representatives don't let their shared politics with the Mayor get in the way of strongly representing local people's views.
  3. Get the 185 to the Oval and jump on the northern straight there. Much quicker than 176 which always gets gummed up on the strand
  4. This is one of the most absurd public policy overreactions i've ever seen. Yet it is passing by almost completely unnoticed.

I think many people who use the route now would welcome interventions from Councillors before TFL have formally decided.
  6. This is terrible news. When the trains are bad this is the only route into the heart of the City for many.

  8. Seems minor
  9. Lol. Clear scam. People keep doing it because people keep paying.
  10. Very sad. A real fixture.

  12. Ok, while i think people who park in these spaces without a disability or kids deserve all the opprobrium they get...a few people on here need to get a grip! The only people who really need these spaces are the disabled or elderly and immobile. People with kids don't. End of story. They are just kids. You can get by. I have. On many, many occasions.. Others have. Stop making out you are some kind of special interest group. They are just kids. Deal with them. These spaces should be reserved for disabled people who have a genuine need because they have limited mobility. Parents don't. A bit of extra space to open a car door? Are you serious? Learn to park instead.
  13. The capacity for people on this site to take offence at the slightest thing is beyond compare.
  14. Sorry to hear this happened to you. Did you report it?
  15. I have kids and while it's slightly annoying to see people without kids taking these spaces, it really isn't that big a deal to walk another 20 metres. The car park isn't that big. Disabled spaces are a different matter though.
  16. We had someone take a dump in the front of our house a few years ago. Left their soiled clothing they had used to wipe themselves too. Nice.
  17. The labour drones would vote for a uncooked potato if it had a red rosette on
  18. Very old trick. Just don't give money to anyone who asks you for it in the street under any circumstances and you won't go far wrong.
  19. A cynical data harvesting exercise that has no public policy making value whatsoever. Thankfully the unanimous response of the forum is to see through this. The Lib Dems should be ashamed of themselves. And just for clarity. NO
  20. It is true Costa are the best of a bad bunch when it comes to chain coffee. But their offering is so inferior to the many brilliant coffee shops in East Dulwich. The Brick House, Kanella and Tart to name but 3 do really, really great coffee. But if Nero's is anything to go by, people prefer familiarity to quality. It's always busy, despite serving the least inspiring, most insipid coffee in the whole of LL. So as much as i won't set foot in the new Costa, if they do open in the londis site, i suspect they will do well.

Of course far better to show your 'heart' by giving drug addicts the means to buy more drugs and eventually kill themselves. As long as you can tell people what a 'good' person you are, that's all that matters to people like you.

Perfectly put.

It is a business like behaviour exploiting people like you who feel the need to 'assuage the guilt'. There is nothing to be guilty about by avoiding giving money to scam artists who divert cash from other much better causes. Even homeless charities warn against giving to these kind of people.
