  1. I’ve used Darren from Castle Plumbing +44 7939 051017 to diagnose and fix a fault with guttering. Friendly, reliable, communicative when arranging the appointment and keeping me updated that he was on time on the day. He stayed to give me advice on another issue. I’ve been using him now for over 10 years. He installed my bathroom 8 years ago. Castle Plumbing is his own small company I believe, so I’m glad to support this.   3. I have used B? and her colleagues for around 9 years now, to provide a weekly clean for my home. Always an excellent service in terms of the cleaning itself, and the communication/organisation. I?ve had a clean cancelled just once in 9 years, as B? draws upon a small team of regular faces with a seemingly low staff turnover. They pride themselves on their standards of service - the quality of the cleaning is high, completed in an efficient time, and for the right price.   7. If you are looking for an excellent and reliable cleaner, then look no further. My cleaner, Be, has the advantage that she works with a colleague, Lena, and so our weekly clean is completed in half the time! Working as a pair means that your cleaning is completed in much less time, minimising any disruption to your day. Be and her small band of regular colleagues have been working for us for around 7 years now. She and her team genuinely enjoy working hard to achieve results. They are efficient and committed - the house is cleaned to a high standard and she has never cancelled a clean - holidays and emergencies are covered within the team. They are organised and honest e.g. I pay by direct debit but when I cancel a clean because I am on holiday, the refund money is waiting in an envelope for me when I return. And once, a clean took less than the usual time and so they left me half of the money. Be and her team are friendly and driven, and do an excellent job among the weekly debris from my children!   8. A recommendation for anyone whose neighbours are doing building work - we used Jonathan Hicks from Garner & Co. to prepare our schedule of conditions. My cleaner, Be, has a unique selling point - she works in a team with another colleague so your weekly clean is completed in half the time, allowing minimum disruption before you can enjoy your house again. She very rarely misses a clean because there is a small pool of regular cleaners (3 other ladies) that she can draw on if ever she is away. Be and her team has been working with us for over 6 years now. They are hard working, efficient, and set high standards for themselves. They are very honest - whenever I have cancelled a clean because I've been on holiday, the cash for the missed cleaning session has been waiting for me upon my return (I pay by direct debit).   10. Another recommendation for Darren of Castle Plumbing and Bathrooms ([email protected] 07939 051017). Our water pipe in our kitchen burst the other evening and I called Darren at about 7pm. He was travelling home from his day's work but offered to turn his car around to pick up his tool bag from his job and come to fix the leak. I explained it wasn't an emergency as I had managed to turn the water to the kitchen off. He didn't want us to be without water but I managed to put him off until the next day when he fitted us in and fixed the problem quickly and efficiently for a very reasonable price. Thanks Darren! I'm pasting it here for your perusal: I returned from a weekend away to find ?20 cash waiting for me from my cleaner - her note explained that she was refunding half of my weekly direct debit because the house had only taken two hours' work rather than 4. ( we had been away half the week). Wow! Talk about honesty! We have had such a good experience with my cleaner, Be. She has been working with us for 5 years now, with a small band of regular colleagues. She and her team enjoy working hard to achieve results. She is efficient and committed (e.g. keeping us on when we moved house outside her usual area, never cancelling a clean - this is the advantage of working as part of a small team, as is the fact that two people working on your house simultaneously halves the time that they need to be in your house, letting you get on with your day - and stopping for 4 months while we were abroad and restarting with us upon our return, shooing away my idea of paying her a retainer while we were away).   14. I wouldn't use anyone else - Shaun Owens (07974 943346, [email protected]) is brilliant. Very knowledgeable about his trade and legal safety requirements, trustworthy, respectful of the environment he is working in (your house!), inspires confidence, works hard, well-spoken polite young man. He turned up when he said he would, carried out a variety of jobs, quoted me for a big job (bringing my house's electrics up to date after the 10-year safety certificate expired)and was able to return the following week for the big job. While working, part of the job was quicker than he anticipated so he knocked the appropriate sum off the bill. Additionally, he can use his wherewithal to reduce any effort on the part of the customer. I wanted an outside security light, didn't want the hassle of finding out about the different types or styles, asked Shaun if he could just make the choice for me and he returned from his short lunch break with two examples which worked in different ways and both at very reasonable prices, quickly ran through the pros and cons of each and so I was able to make a decision without having wasted a lot of time first. I remembered Shaun from when I used him a few years ago in my previous property, was impressed then and wanted to use him again. I must admit that my original text inquiring if he was available was not answered (this is rather at odds with his otherwise highly-organised work approach). However I rang him and he answered straight away. I have found that ringing directly is the best way to get hold of him. Shaun's your man for electrical works! D
