  1. My cat has been put on anti depressants which seem to work well - clomi calm they are called and they are described as prozac for cats. They are well expensive from the vets but you can order them online I think which is what I am going to do because he has to be on the for at least six months. I also had a cat behaviourist in as mine pees on the kitchen bench. Turns out its not just the baby but other cats/foxes out in its territory which means he's not so keen on going out. You can clean the soiled areas with a solution of biological washing liquid (normal laundry detergent) and water (one part to ten) - smells better and less expensive than those specialist spray cleaners from the vet. Have also found it more effective in discouraging repeat performances. Once you have cleaned the area and it is dry wipe over with some surgical spirit (if the surface can tolerate it) - this just kills the active agents from the washing liquid so that this doesn't disturb the cat. I presume you have a litter tray indoors as well as this will help - not ideal with a baby but if you can use one of those dark corners her already uses then that might help. Also I heard someone say that you should feed them their food on the spot where they have soiled for a while as they will never soil their food spot apparently. A friend of a friends cat was cured like this. This might work well if you do it whilst the cat is being given the anti depressant pills. It's all been a bit of a nightmare and am continually asking myself why I don't just get rid of him but can't quite bring myself to that either yet.
  2. Hi - don't want to put a dampner on the sighting but I have two black cats that are often in and around Melbourne Grove. There is also a young female black cat on Blackwater street so it could have been one of these three that has been spotted. My two don't have collars on currently as they have lost them so they could look like they don't belong!
  3. Last Christmas I was treated like a very unimportant customer by WR. Being Scandy, I wanted to get a particular cut of meat for our Christmas dinner which would require the butcher to step out of his comfort zone. I went in in October to discuss this with the main man there - first off he said he wouldn't do it then he said he would and that he would have to cut it from a whole pig for me but he would do it if I came back two weeks prior to needing it. I did this - he refused to serve me saying he was too busy and I could speak to one of the others before barging past me out of the shop. The person I then spoke to said that he wouldn't do it and there i was without the cut of meat I needed. I ended up going to smithfields where they were able to help me with no attitude and no palming me off with alternative cuts which were already in the back room. I do like the meat from WR but they can stuff their surly attitude in their 'only for regulars' christmas turkeys butt. I am now an 'irregular' user but wouldn't dream of trying to order a turkey or anything else from there as I am not keen on being made to feel not in exclusive club!
