  1. Happy to subvert this crappy tiresome thread. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sport/football/293678.stm
  2. Where's quids in his Stella cups when you need him ?!?!?!?!?!!!?!?!?
  3. Eek, have I just down an old skool link by recommending a book? Ok, lesson one about the reformation starts tomorrow with Hus, Monday I might get to Luther ;)
  4. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. There is however a good novel by an Italian collective called "Luther Blisset" which deals with the early days of Protestantism, particularly the more revolutionary anabaptist elements, which is well worth a read. It's the DNA of that time that we still see strong in NN and co. It is more prevalent in the US for the obvious reason that the place was practically born of those strands, but it is lively everywhere now. No god to fight against and the church is neutered, so let's rail against "them" whomsoever they may be. So much easier than blaming yourself for your inadequacy eh. And no SJ, I'm still not taking about you you weirdo.
  5. I've no issue with economics, though it's a bit dull. I do have an issue with bad history. I seem to have something in common with a couple of other posters, history backgroundwise, and it may be down to us to ensure that the EDF doesn't invade Abyssinia.
  6. My hat doffs in a kpcward direction!!!
  7. Brendans solubility post was easily the best. By a country mile. Huguenot, you should know better.
  8. Right. I've just read ten pages of this bollix. What was the point again? Correct me if I'm wrong but the pink and crouton corner think that we are within a crusty shout of the world as we know it changing. I'm with them. When I grew up the two Ronniess had twenty million viewers every week and the worm that turned was a serious treatise on feminism. Now my 19 months old child looks scathingly on any technology that isn't touchscreeny. The ecrue and burgundy corner think that there will be muddling through. I'm with them, when I grew up everything ws shit, and now everything is shit because everything is good, but now that everything is good everything is obviously shit, you know... Because .... Mor summink. Forgive me, ten pages of this shit. Those that use poor history are as bad as the bad science brigade. Coincidence to be causality, anecdote to be trend. Or ultimately, I've a hypothesis, here's some stuff to prove it; bugger the morass of everything else; rather than here's the whole complex world how does it fit together. Oh, and when someone doesn't answer a question but posts an oblique link in reply then discount them, they are incapable of original thought or a decent opinion, what they are doing is looking into the middle distance, furrowing brow and hoping that their handsomeness is enough. What they really mean is: My argument boils down to this "I think things might go a bit wrong in the future" Errrr..... That's it.
  9. I won't read anything that man has to say, but if he has got it right then it rather gives the lie that he was a conviction politician. If his convictions are right then his ten years in power serve a s nothng but a self serving ego power trip. You had your chance to change things and just made then worse. The man is a cunt and as far as I'm concerned he's lost the right to comment. Do the world a favour. Kill yourself and hurry your journey to hell.
  10. A triple post, worthy of Brendan. Damn........four..........
  11. Plus Europe has become wealthy as a result of money poured in from Germany, France, ,Britain and Italy. I'm not sure how massive investment into poorer countries is somehow a nefarious plot. And I've yet to see a jackboot anywhe but on the odd hoxton art student. And maybe guardia civiles in Spain, but they lost influence a long time ago.
  12. Plus the common Market has worked wonderfully, the euro has admittedly been troubled. Two very different things. Even quids likes the EU, circa 1999.
  13. Italy can't even govern itself, how it has suddenly started dictating things to Europe, cap in hand, is beyond me. Are you living in a time warp, iknow readinig the daily mail or max hastings' column can make people feel that way sometimes.
  14. Not a blog, just sa cool website. Where people emigrate from and where people emigrate to http://peoplemov.in UK 8th biggest source of migrants in the world!!
  15. WE just use a freestanding aerial with our freeviews, and they're fine about 95% of the time. The other 5% I have to hold it whilst standing in a weird position while missus mockers tortures me with the repeat edition of Eastenders.
  16. This made me chuckle, I'm pretty sure I know which one East Dulwich would be if we made a London equivalent! http://flowingdata.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Bike-of-San-Francisco-625x833.jpg
  17. Private Eye pointed out that in March in tottenham there was a riot of 200 youths who damaged police vehicles and the police, outnumbered, left them to it. Thanks to the Earthquake/tsuanmi/nuclear crisis in Japan it didn't even make the Evening Standard, apparently Britain wasn't in crisis and JJB Sports' shareholders had nothing to worry about.
  18. "I haven't been bitten now for a few years with this regime" Or you've been bitten enough times now for you to no longer react much to the anticoagulant in their bite ;)
  19. Since when does the press do anything for the benefit of the government, so close AFN
  20. Whilst trying to get to Galway the other day I ran over Ronan O Gara. This means I went via gara, of course when I tried to market the hobby under a new brand name on the forum, admin, evil force for bad that he is, stopped me, even though he didn't know anything about it. I cannot express how angry I am except to say I am no longer paying my subscription.
  21. My Brother in law went into quite the spittle flecked waters hating diatribe on seeing the authorship of the book. Having read the book he made me laugh quite a bit, I learnt a few things, but I know I don't like him. (THe Gerry Adams one was spot on mind!!)
  22. Purely 20th century Alan. It's stretching it a bit to blame Cromwell for the corruption of Ireland's political classes and screwing all its new found wealth in a greed infested property bubble. Mind you my sister in law tried gawd bless her cotton ones!! It pretty much kicks off with Paidraig Pearse for dying, De Valera for living, goes via a host of political, artistic and sporting figures and finishes up with Thierry Henry. Interestingly he's quite tolerant of Paisley who he berates for not realising he's irish, hates G Adams for being a sanctimonious hypocrite and loves Tony Blair, which is where John Waters and I finally fell out with each other.
  23. 38-42 I'd love to know how accurate that is. The fact that I fall in that sample set is rather spooky!!
  24. I tell can be that it uses east method for all posts during some time. I' beginning of ll with Spanish by legibility.
