  1. cheer it up chaps. Here's a blast from my past (I think you may have been getting ready for junior school D_C) bongo Acid
  2. Is it tortoises and bonfires that are a bad combination, or are my thinking of hedgehogs? or bears?
  3. Oh, and if it's any consolation I only ever seem to think of retorts about 30 seconds too late too.
  4. awww shucks, cheers Tillie :-$
  5. No probs, and Tillie's right, at least feel good about yourself in retrospect...noone ever admires my flowing locks or sexy legs *ahem* any more :(
  6. "and you're quite pretty for an ignorant prick, but I normally keep those observations to myself thanks very much" ?
  7. sod it, might as well have the second movement by the Budapest Strings Orchestra http://songza.com/z/tqsnkr
  8. It must be the lovely summery weather and the Spanish win, but I've totally been earwormed by/strolling and whistling annoyingly: Rodrigo - Concierto de Aranjuez (paco de lucia)
  9. Always a good time to bring up this website Starlight Problem and my old favourite Kangaroo which seems to propose that pangea broke apart less than 4000 years ago. notice how it's all science in reverse. We have a theory, science presents a 'problem' so we come up with solutions to address or attack the problem. Why bother, if things are 'because they are' then they just are, why then bother to come up with such outlandish theories as 'light created in transit' or 'decrease in the speed of light'?!?!
  10. Was a beautiful weekend, tis a beautiful day Slowdive - Blue Skied an' clear
  11. I think that's what I was trying to get to with the whole agnostic/ignostic thing, but there you go. The anthropic principle will apply to earth in that the it begs the question, we are alive here therefore we exist in a cosmos/time/bit of the universe that permits life. There is no particular inherent implication that other than that we are particularly exclusive or special. The big bang set the cosmological parameters by which life is possible. Our moment in time within which these conditions pan out to be able to support life is staggeringly huge, and as for our narrow band in the solar system, in case you hadn't noticed, and to quote the master "Space is big" ;-)
  12. Just about, and feeling a bit tender. Analysis, football won, the unambitious champions deservedly dumped out. A lacklustre France likewise. Italy didn't manage to bully their way through. The rest of the tournament was an absolute triumph, best competition since Euro 2000, some great games, real drama and excitement and an emphasis on good football. Spain have finally broken their curse. It was so funny into the 93rd minute, I and my fellow fans in the crowd, still didn't dare believe Spain could do it, a look of nervous terror etched into everyone's face. It's only just beginning to sink in now. Looking forward to the world cup now and lets hope Capello can instill a similar quality into the England side!! Oh, and well done Torres, he delivered when it finally counted .. and how!!!!!
  13. WWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  14. I remember Louis Theroux's programme on them. Strange bunch, but I really felt sorry for the kids, what a childhood; little surprise that they almost all leave home the moment they're old enough.
  15. you've been reading google hacks too long. A simple adventure bar sufficed
  16. i see Spurs perennial "almost purchases" have started again. David Villa...riiiight.
  17. "Michael, it's really not nice to scare the natives" Shouldn't that be the locales? I'll get my coat.....
  18. Much as I'd love a bar that played nothing but the likes of Under Byen, Envelopes and Esmerine, I suspect it'd have a cast of regulars of 1. If we as a loyal customer base encourage more of the Rolling Stones and less of the Mika we could influence musical policy...money talks.
  19. I daren't predict, but Germany do like to pee on parades in finals, think Czechs in '96 when the Czechs had been one of the teams of the tournament. I'll take advantage of that thought to remember England 4 - 1 Holland ..... *sigh*
  20. I don't think so, she's just a bit freakish looking...like models tend to be really.
  21. From the makers of wanted, how bad does this sound? "All Creatures Great and Small" (not the James Herriot stuff) Wanted screenwriters Michael Brandt and Derek Haas have drafted a script for Sony and producer Neal Moritz and his Original Film titled All Creatures Great and Small, says The Hollywood Reporter. It is set in a world where the animals control the planet and humans are the minority. Brandt said "Creatures" is a "big, fun, fantastic 'Jurassic Park'-type movie. Because of people's inability to quench their thirst for oil and consumption of resources, we basically ruin the planet, and the planet fights back," Brandt said. "And part of that is the quick evolution of many of the animals."
  22. i've a feeling Sco46 is one of the key people behind this.
  23. I think you're right MP, he's looking up at Maudsley isn't he.
  24. Indeed Ted, it was a small gene pool that gave rise to the chinless Habsburg kings of Spain, an uglier royal family you'd be hard pressed to find. Luckily the mockney genes are much healthier, here's my slightly distant cousin and classy, was that really the princesa?
  25. That was Mrs Prince Carlos, Ted. The King & Queen have attended a few but only the son went along last night. He has a reputation for being a bit of an idiot, but boy done good when it came to marriage.
