  1. Well, he is a hammer you know. Can't be too far wrong now. I wouldn't be too happy about getting into negative equity as we're planning to move within the next five years. But that hasn't happened, so I'm more or less in agreement with the pair of yous.
  2. "If you're paying more than ?2 a pint or ?20 1/8th you're being ripped off." Blimey, I was paying more than that at Uni 15 years ago. No wonder I was skint when I left. Oh, and remember to study a bit, I regret not having done more (much/any)
  3. and i haven't been sulking, i've been at an Irish wedding all weekend, just got back from Luton, having pretty much gone straight from the wedding, and feeling very much the worse for wear. Huge dose of The Fear, leading to excess memento in my mori.
  4. It was a long time ago, ain't going to get offended. Nowt wrong with gallows humour, a bit of memento mori never hurt anyone I suppose. Don't going saying that to his brother though, he was a psycho of an entirely different ilk!
  5. who could resist being a part of such a mighty outfit especially as we'd need 2 more
  6. thanks for that STB. Why not come along and play? You might change your mind (or at the very least drink lots of cold beer)
  7. ceebeebee, I'm guessing the intention was to move it from the issues section to the offered section, but it can be a bit fiddly and whoever did it might have unwittingly put it in the lounge.
  8. Shameless plug for my mate's band (he's the surly drummer who somehow manages to avoid exploding) The Corrections - Barcode
  9. Only one result I can be confident of West Ham 0 - Blackburn 4
  10. Truth, as ever, stranger than fiction http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/article-23453952-details/Woman+rescued+after+sitting+on+boyfriend%27s+toilet+for+TWO+YEARS/article.do
  11. I honestly wouldn't. Fun it was, good spectator fare it wasn't, just a bunch of no longer quite so youthful blokes creaking under scudding skies. Cold beer and the company of some lovely ladies on the plus side though.
  12. Clearly not Keef, likewise for the pub. Just because I don't like twats out to impose their own overinflated egos on people and/or spoiling for a fight, doesn't mean I can necessarily avoid them. In all respects this forum is merely a mirror of the real world, and just whose line is it anyway...to err..borrow a tv programme title?
  13. point taken
  14. looks like its game on. I suppose it's only right that as you visited last year, we should make the effort this year. Any preferences on date?
  15. Couldn't agree less. Why should the medium and anonymity make me more inclined to rant pointlessly like a loon than I would down the supermarket or having a discussion with mates down the pub*. If a bit of a decorum is the norm with all your normal interactions, then why should here be any different. Besides, there's somewhere to do it now. *at least before the 6th pint.
  16. A friend of mine used said method. Must be terrible for the driver, but I can't really blame him, he was suffering pretty severe psychosis, paranoia and depression. Pity no one was able to help him in time. Ever the way I suppose.
  17. I love this photo by (not of I hasten to add) the lovely madeinsheffield
  18. Come on people, what's with the paranoia? Admin is pretty good at spotting this sort of thing whether self promotion or mud slinging (see headnizm thread). I'm pretty certain Katy is who she said she is. Do we have to alienate every new poster who finds a reason to break beyond the lurk?
  19. Ooh, does that very pretty girl still work at the oval? Nice one Keef, I'll see if I can get a modicum of talent sorted too. And let's pray for sun, every time I go out on that damn Belair pitch, the heavens open!!!
  20. I'm sure we can drum up some interest again. Though I think my legs are still a bit stiff from the last game ;-)
  21. Bad bad bad thing. Slivovitz was responsible for one of my worst hangovers of all time, evil evil evil. And I recall this great advice from a war photographer "Never photograph a retreating army, was one of them. And never refuse Slivovitz from a commander was the other one. Never trust [anyone with] an AK-47 who is under 11 years old. And then the last one, which is the only serious one, really, is, always remember that no picture is worth your life. That's the most important one, going into any given situation, realizing that you can walk away having missed fantastic images, and that's OK, because the point is to be able to take pictures tomorrow."
  22. welcome to snorkyville katy. You stick to your guns girl.
  23. Disappointing as rants go, but I guess so, yes.
  24. I'll pop your name in that hat then Brendan ;-)
  25. LOL, just make sure you use a pair of marigolds, and you'll be fine!!
