  1. perfect for those monday blues, uplifting ethereal slowdive remixy thing.
  2. Dipped in and out, attracted by the cast but turned off by the fact that nothing at all seemed to be happening. Turned over to a nice sword fight on channel 4 then tootled off for an early night, as still not quite mended yet.
  3. Spadetownboy, as we've piled in from the public purse something to the tune of 500 quid for every man woman and child so far, I'd be pretty concerned about what happens to it all. I mean, we could probably get another trident submarine for that, or 2 nonfunctioning NHS IT systems, or you know, modernise 1000 hospitals....naa that'd be daft!!
  4. He's just confessed that he made it all up MW, keep up ;-P
  5. My default position is generally to want Man Utd to lose, but it soon beame clear that there was only one team providing entertainment on the pitch, and only one team that seemed to want anything out of the game. I'd much rather have seen a proper match out of the game, but hats off to utd, they played a blinder, even wes Brown seemed to be good. Plus handbags, comedy dives, bad tackles, cards akimbo and a sending off. Couldn't really have asked for much more out of a good old cup tie.
  6. some of us were up at 6 this morning, braving the sub zero temperatures to get the soft light of the winter mornings. Very enjoyable company and the crisp air in Sydenham woods and Nunhead cemetery is great for clearing the cobwebs
  7. They were highly entertaining. Lozzy, i have a habit of making words up (opinionation), but the fascina was the trident used by gladiators (retiarius) usually with a net, so i took some poetic licence in giving them a scutum, or large shield used by the secutors. Here they are having a pop at each other God I'm dull!!
  8. How's about a frothiness of saturnine opinionation?
  9. To help nudge the conversation along slightly, does anyone remember the semi-naked elvis and his girlfriend who would play their rockabilly at full blast whilst unsubtly snorting cocaine in the windows in front of everyone in the CPT? MW, shouldn't that just be an abyss of social wrongness? Not that I've the foggiest what you're trying to say.
  10. The consideration isn't just to them, it's your fellow users. Come on, keep the moral high ground huh? Nice place to be, non?
  11. Come on chaps. This thread was locked yesterday, not by some fascist act of censorship, but in response to a record number of complaints from users. Remember this is a public forum for anyone and everyone to use. No reason why the people in question won't find out about this, read it and feel somewhat violated or disturbed by being publicly ridiculed. I'm not sure I'd want to log on and read "I saw that mockney, jeez he's got a big nose, so full of himself, somebody should sort the numpty out" etc. Whatever you may think of people, and we're all entitled to opinions, have some consideration. Have this conversation down the pub, but try and be a little more circumspect here is all I ask.
  12. I give you Flying laundry from North London's very own BarryRoad Doh, beaten to it, ok, another of his with a nostalgic tinge
  13. How about fitting them all out with fascinae and scuta and see who makes it across the line first?
  14. Ooh love the faces. Here's a bit of Envelopes to prepare you for the new album coming out next week. They're the bes Franco-Scandanavian quirky pop outfit around (I can name at least one more, honest) and the new album seems to be winning the plaudits
  15. http://www.xcweather.co.uk/
  16. full title: Come On! Feel The Illinoise! (Part 1: The World's Columbian Exposition; Part 2: Carl Sandburg Visits Me In A Dream)
  17. Home counties blow ins give birth
  18. Withnail & I, Pixies, next you'll be saying Su Ingle!!!! .....pistols at dawn for you and me Keef!!
  19. Here you go Blinder, and might I add, blinding!! Added a couple of old favourites too.
  20. No probs. The guitarist, Josephine Wiggs, is my old English teacher's daughter. They (along with everyone else it would seem) are reforming.
  21. Cool, if we're playing that game. Mind you, don't know whether this should be here or in the covers thread.
  22. I can't work out if this is shocking or pure genius.
  23. "My nick-name at school was Dwayne Dibley." Really?!?! I had you down for being in your 40s for some reason.
  24. good choice DC. I've only stumbled on to these guys recently, but love her voice. Someone described her as the nice Amy Winehouse, which made me chuckle. Perhaps she should rename her first album Back To Blonde ;)
  25. Gus Powell's photos are well worth a look.
