  1. Hiya. Im signing up for a 2.5h course at Nunhead green which costs ?25. It is only the basics for hypnobirthing, as I cannot afford the full course fees some of these people charge either. The course is on the 11th September with a lady called Simona from Hip Mama Hpnobirthing. Hope this helps in any way. Claudine
  2. Hi all. Donatella, were you at the Fetal Research Institute at Denmark Hill? If so then yes, we may well have been there the same day. I have pink hair. Rachel, I have messed up. I was supposed to confirm my final booking this weekend but we were away camping, and now it seems the course is no longer available. So I have provisionally booked one in E. Dulwich, but left various voice mails and emails with people at NCT to find out if the Nunhead one is definitely unavailable. They seem to be overwhelmed with bookings though, so they haven't got back to me yet. Is anyone on the Albrighton Community Centre course? I may end up on that one now. I can't remember the exact dates, but it is two Saturdays and one wednesday evening at the end of October. Looking forward to the pub afternoon on the 20th August.
  3. We found out today that we are having a healthy little baby boy. Soooo excited. Anyone else had their 20 week scans yet? x
  4. Rachel, I'm also signed up for the 29th September nct class. Yay, hopefully we can meet at one of the meet ups, and then I will know someone at the nct class. Worried about missing the first class as we are on holiday, but this makes it easier. X
  5. Hi all. Goodness I haven't looked at this page for a few weeks now, didn't expect this many new faces. How wonderful. I am very excited to meet up. I can do both those dates, however the 20th August works better for me. I have been looking at NCT classes. However the one that is the most convenient for me, I would have to miss the first class, as we are off on holiday that day. Do you guys think that would be acceptable? Thanks Claudine
  6. Hi Balbina and Kim. How are you ladies feeling? I cannot believe the first trimester is done and dusted already. ooh and we have a Christmas baby in our group. So exciting. I'm not sure if there is a group thing in EDF for the men, but I'm sure we can set our boys up for a meet up if they fancy it. Speak soon.
  7. Thanks for putting this up. My name is Claudine, due 9th December and 35 years old. I live in Nunhead with manfriend, cats and a rabbit. This is our first and the excitement as well as the nerves are epic. Congrats to all the new Winter babies. C
  8. Hi all. I was just wondering when the wInter Babies 2016 thread will appear? I'm due 9th December and am hoping to meet some people through here going through the same experiences/emotions. Very excited and slightly impatient Claudine
  9. I have had my pet rabbit for 8 years now. Rescued her from the then horrible pet shop in Peckham. She is amazing. I have to clean her out every 4-5 days to make sure that it doesn't smell, but she is house trained and only poos in her hutch. Oh yeah she is an indoor rabbit. We also have 3 cats (I have a strong helper syndrome.) and they all get on amazingly. Jack is a really lovely cuddly girl, so I can't say anything bad about her. Although she does chew fabric and electric cables if you let her. Hope this helps. C
  10. I have dealt with Nicholas Ashley before, who are based in Gipsy Hill in a small two people office, but they offer great service and are really on the case. They do come as far as East Dulwich. Hope this helps.
  11. Haha on the other end, I had my handbag stolen travelling back to the UK at Christmas one year, and ended up crying my way back into the UK and people were tremendously kind offering me ?20 notes to help me get home (I literally had nothing on me) I wasn't even asking for it. I didn't take the money obviously, but I could have easily made a fortune that day. A lovely gay couple took me into the Eurostar business lounge though and packed my suitcase full of magazines, chocolates and booze. Now THAT stuff I took, smiling sweetly.
  12. Oh Etta, really sorry that you didn't get the answer you were looking for. I hope you get some sleep soon. Good luck C
  13. Hi SArie Have you tried one of those bouncers that fits in the door frame? Will help him build up muscle in his legs so that he can walk sooner rather than later and use up some of his energy. And the giggling is normally endless. C
  14. Hi all Etta, it is difficult to know what you have tried so far, but happy to meet up and have a chat. I have had success with one reflux baby using a Hammock for night time. (You can get them on Ebay relatively cheaply these days.) If buying a huge contraption isnt an option, I have just read some stuff on the internet, and I know i am probably committing professional suicide here, but have you tried sleeping your LO on his front? Have a look at some of the threads on netmums if you get a moment. I have personally not tried it myself, but if your baby can hold his head safely and in conjunction with using a sensor mat, it seems to have given lots of reflux babies the relief they needed to sleep through, by putting pressure on their tummies and the warmth can also help with reflux. Please let me know how you get on. Good luck Claudine
  15. Hi all I am reading this thread with great interest. (I am currently starting as a sleep trainer myself.) Having unknowingly 'trained' children whilst babysitting for friends and family, I realised that this can be a real strain on families. The main reason why sleep training works when using a professional is because that person generally has slept. There is no real magic rule, other than being consistent in using whatever routine you would like. I really feel for all of you and cannot imagine how hard this all is, especially for the mother who is going back to work next week. I really would like to help, so if anyone is up for meeting for coffee, I am happy to offer my services (in return maybe for a reference, if things are successful?) I can do most mornings, so just send me an email on [email protected] Claudine
