  1. Does anyone know of a local fireworks display that doesn't start too late? We've got two littlies and we're wanting to join in the fun, but preferably early evening rather than 8pm starts.
  2. Thank you so much EDtots - I didn't realise how much I rely on you until I couldn't use it. It's fantastically useful x
  3. Hello, Unusually, having dropped elder son off to nursery, myself and my 17 month old son are ready and raring to go to an activity. However, my usual trusted friend EDtots website does not seem to be working - the activities pages don't seem to be loading. Can any wise forumites advise me of any activities running this morning? Much appreciated x
  4. Hi, I'm shortly about to act in a play at The Lowry Theatre in Salford, in which I play a French woman. So I'll be speaking English, but need to have an authentic sounding French accent. I'm working on this before rehearsals begin, but haven't got long before I go (just over a week), and wondered if there were any kind French ladies now living here who wouldn't mind sparing 20 minutes or so for me to record your voice on a dictaphone, asking you a few conversational questions so I can hear your accent, reading a set piece and a few words that will give me all the vowel sounds I need to be able to apply that accent to my script. I can offer wine or chocolate in return, and much gratitude! Thank you.
  5. Hi all, I've just done a fruitless search of forum threads to try and find one I remember from a while back about a genius lego storage container. Does anyone remember that one and could point me in the right direction? Many thanks
  6. Hi, I've just found this thread and wondered if any classes ever did get off the ground? We'd be really interested for our almost four year old - afternoons though as he's at nursery in the mornings. Many thanks
  7. Thank you so much Elli for being so clever, technical and organised, this is wonderful to have. I can only third the comments above about the genius of this thread. Having not done NCT this time round, I've loved having the chance of meeting all of you that would never have happened without it. Thanks also Tomo and Elli for clarifying who can see the comments on the Facebook page - twas wondering that meself! x
  8. Allo - we'll be along for a speed gossip before picking up Albster. Will be nearer three as J still asleep and very randomly I'm in the middle of making soup for Alb's tea. Never made any of any description before - cakes I understand, but soup?! Only explanation is chronic sleep deprivation induced weirdness! X
  9. A sheepish mail to let you know if you're TV watching tonight, I have the grand total of one line that I filmed whilst secretly pregnant with Jonah, in a BBC1 drama, Bert and Dickie, at 8.30 pm tonight, about the 1948 Olympic rowing team success, with Matt Smith aka Doctor Who in the lead role. It's a good drama and you will need a very keen eye to spot me - about halfway through, in a scene set in the Olympic organisers office. I'm first in shot, and glamourously named Helper One. I imagine you have more chance of spotting my name in the end credits! For me it's a big toss up between watching that and Superstar on ITV, which I'm shamefully addicted to! See some of you tomorrow for the Olympic torch event. L xx
  10. Thanks Ju*Ni - sounds great but hard to find. Can I ask the name of your school? (By PM if you'd prefer).
  11. Sorry not made it today, the day's totally run away with me, despite every intention of coming down. Sorry not to see you tomo, and anyone else who's coffeeing, hopefully catch up again soon x
  12. Hi all, We've just (I think!) been offered a place for our 3.5 year old son to go to Goose Green Nursery School from September. We actually live on the Nunhead side of Peckham Rye Park, but were unable to get into our nearest local school nursery due to all the places being allocated to siblings. In a ridiculously naive way, I had been imagining and wanting him to go to his local pre-school attached to the primary school he would then go to, in terms of developing friendships and familiarity with the school. However, it seems definite that unless Ivydale has another bulge class for 2013, we won't get in there, and it has been suggested we look at Goose Green - hence applying for the nursery there. I would have thought we would have been well out of catchment for primary though, but reading all the glowing reports on the forum about it, if we did get in, it seems a great option. Our son is currently at a private nursery 2 days a week and I guess I'm worried about shifting him about too much, particularly if he hasn't really got much chance of getting into the school itself, and so was wanting to hear feedback about peoples experience of the nursery itself, to see if it was largely positive and worth the potential disruption for. Many thanks in advance.
