The borough is irrelevant when choosing schools - you just need to meet criteria (usually proximity)

Correct, jim Callaghan lived on Carver Rd for a few months after he was sacked as Chancellor and had to move out of number 11. This thread just gets better. -

Look at their gcse results. All schools are measured on number of kids getting 5 a*- c grades. It's a rough measure, also useful to look at how many of their gcse's are at grade A or A*

anyone else forced to home school?
brezzo replied to Hilary Galezia's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I am sure if you contact southwark (assuming you live in the borough) they will be able to direct you to schools with spaces. Competition between schools has driven performance up in all local schools -
We went to noja on north coast with venue holidays - fly to either Bilbao or Santander (or do ferry if you have time). Can't recommend it highly enough. It's warm but not blistering and very green (with it being the Costa Verde). Worked out cheaper than going direct to site for some reason

Don't know how to attach the link from my iPad, but today's Independent quoting them at 61% five A* C including maths and English. -
Not many SEN secondaries, best to visit mainstream schools and ask for SENCO. Take along any docs regarding your child, especially any "statement"

Doesn't his school have a careers adviser? Or at the very least, a switched on art teacher?

Is it standard to pay a childminder for her holidays?
brezzo replied to ladyruskin's topic in The Family Room Discussion
It sounds like she is your employee, not your contractor and it is illegal for you not give her a minimum level of holiday pay. You should also check out your national insurance and pension expectations -
Carnegie Library in Herne Hill, free on Saturday afternoons, just turn up and play. Lovely man (whose name I forget) runs it

Local football team for 14 year old boy
brezzo replied to Sarah B's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Lots, but most play on Sunday mornings. You could try googling dulwich magic, athenlay, peckham town for a start, or contact selkent ( south east London Kent league) for other teams in the area. -
