  1. Dave and his team recently completed renovation of the exterior of our house in Brockley. I can't recommend them highly enough. Dave was quick to quote, always available to answer questions and his team were thorough and clean. Very happy with the result. Dave Franklin (Berdec Decorators) - Tel: 07956 688622
  2. Hi all I'm looking for recommendations for good basement tanking companies around East Dulwich and Brockley for a quote. Thanks in advance. Lee
  3. Does anyone have a liability or insurance lawyer recommendation? Someone had an accident on our property and we need some advice. Thanks v much
  4. My son is in yr 1 of the free school and we are very happy with it. My son isn't particularly academic and is more interested in sports/running around/being silly. I was worried that the school might be a bit strict and that it might be too focused on academic stuff rather than creativity however I think it's pretty balanced and if anything it has definitely calmed him down and made him more mature/responsible. He loves it and we're happy too. However i was surprised at how much home work there is (I have no experience of other schools so perhaps it's the same as everywhere) although I guess homework is optional...
  5. Please please please, did anyone take the wrong red Isla bike outside Dulwich park cafe yesterday (23rd). We left a 16inch frame bike outside and I think someone must have picked up the wrong one as a slightly smaller bike (14inch frame) was left in its place. It's a brand new bike so we're really gutted. Fingers crossed the right person sees this. Thanks, Caroline
  6. Hi, Just reviving this thread. I'm finding it really tough to form an opinion of a school which has only been open a few months and I can't decide whether to prioritise this school on my form or a more we'll established primary school. Does anyone have any opinions? Does your child like the school/teachers? Is it weird there only being 1 years worth of kids there (or will be 2 yeArs of kids there by the time my son goes)? Is this an advantage/disadvantage? The open days were in the evening so it was pretty difficult to get a feel for the school? Thanks x
  7. Hey, We'd love to come too. But will have to play it by ear as both the twins have bronchiolitis so can obs only make it if they are recovered. Caroline xx
  8. We went to this last Saturday and had a brilliant time. It was good to do something that we all enjoyed (we usually end up doing something that is just for the kids whereas this is focussed on the adults aswell as the smalls). Highly Recommended x
  9. I used the exercises in this book to help close the diastasis last time: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/0738209813 (It's called "lose the mummy tummy" in case the link doesn't work). And it suggests using a scarf or a towel as a splint when doing some of the exercises. I'm using the exercises after this pregnancy aswell but the gap is much bigger this time round so I'm hoping it is still effective
  10. Hi BellendenBear. I'm around today. Would love to meet the twins if you're still free? Caroline x
  11. Hiya, Sorry I couldn't make this in the end. Look forward to catching up at the next meet x
  12. Hiya, Congrats Ginny, Philippa and BellendenBear. Lots of new arrivals! Very exciting. I'd love to catch up - Monday better for me also. Hope to see you all soon xxx
  13. I was supposed to be having an ELCS at kings a couple of weeks ago and I was told min 3 night stay. However we ended up being transferred to a different hospital as there was no room at Kings and we stayed in for 2 nights. I guess the length of time you stay in is totally dependant upon your and your baby's situation. If you're up and about soon and no probs with baby then you'll probably be home sooner. I was really surprised at how long its taking me to recover compared to a natural birth. Although I only had it a week and a half ago so perhaps I'm bein impatient. I definitely couldn't have held a party on day 3 (wow-I'm super impressed familyoffour). Good luck and hope it all goes well
  14. Congrats to everyone who has had their babies. Our twin boys made an eventful appearance last Tuesday. A meet up next week sounds good (so long as the twins agree......) x
  15. Hi, Congrats Sofia!! Hope you are home and feeling better. I probably won't make tomorrow eve now as I have to be at the hospital at 7.30pm for injections. I've got my c-section booked for Monday so not long now. Have fun tomorrow. x
  16. Hi, I can make this too. But the boyfriend can't as no childcare. See you all then x
  17. So sorry Claire, Sofia and I were in homemade just round the corner. We assumed that it was just us so didn't think to check on here. Sorry we missed you and I hope everything was OK at Kings x
  18. I'm on leave now too (first day today). It feels really weird. Would be lovely to meet this week x
  19. Next week is my last week at work - hurrah! And have 2 weeks off before my c-section date. So I can't meet up next week but will be available after that if anyone fancies meeting later on aswell.
