I'm still going to see James Blunt tomorrow night at Koko - he does a great Pixies cover BTW.
The Bowie gig at Hammersmith was during a tube strike - it took ages to get there and back from ED. He played for hours and hours. At the time he hadn't toured for years so everything that night was very fresh for him. He seemed to enjoy himself as much/more than the audience. I remember thinking at the time that he would tour pretty soon - and he did.

The Foxtons shop front just looks so huge. I wish it was going to be used for something more useful than an estate agent.

Bring back expensive costume drama for Sunday tea time - that would make me happy. Men in tight trousers and women in pretty frocks. I'm easy to please really.

No I don't work for Stargreen. It's just an agency that not many people have heard of so it tends to still have a few tickets when others have sold out.
I saw David Bowie at Hammersmith a couple of years ago when he did that whole Ziggy Stardust anniversary gig - he was great and a friend of mine was down at the front recording it (naughty I know). I listen to that bootleg all the time.

I go to A LOT of gigs but (off the top of my head) here are some of my best in recent years:
Prince @ Koko in May
Foo Fighters @ Underworld in Camden last year
Annie Lennox @ Sadlers Wells a few years ago (she?s amazing live)
George Michael in Antwerp in June and Earls Court last year
Bruce Springsteen in Valencia, Spain last October
Rolling Stones @ Circus Krone in Munich (tiny, tiny, intimate gig)
BB King @ the Albert Hall a few years back
The Who @ The Forum
U2 @ Earls Court ? the concert on the night of the day Bono?s dad had died ? he played an amazing gig
Cream @ Madison Square Garden 2 years ago
Worst gig ever for me
U2 at Staples Centre LA about 2 years ago ? should be ashamed of themselves ? like a bad karaoke night ? we left before the end
Gigs in my diary that I?m looking forward to
Bruce Springsteen @ O2 in December (possibly Paris too) ? the man is my personal God
Prince @ O2 on 16th September
John Mayer @ Albert Hall on 18th September
Paul Weller @ Astoria 30th September
Jose Gonzalez @ Union Chapel 23rd October
The Verve @ Roundhouse 9th November
Cesaria Evora @ Royal Festival Hall 17th Nov
Amy Winehouse @ Brighton 26th November (if she?s still alive ? poor lamb)
I will definitely post any up and happening gig news here.

Yes but the reason I don't own one is because there's so much rubbish on the box. I might reconsider if there was something worth watching on.

I don't own a TV (I get weekly threats from the BBC to send a detector van round but it hasn't happened yet). I would happily vote for any political party that made an election promise to ban reality television.

Sorry to nit-pick but...... the new ES physical health place due to open in September has a hoarding outside with an apostrophe missing. If they can't be bothered to proof read their own announcement board before having someone nail it up then it doesn't bode well. Also, the builders have spilt black paint all over the pavements outside. That looks a bit slap-dash and I hope they clean it up.
I actually like ED baths - I know they're tatty but I'm fond of the place.

I get lots of charity bags but through my door for me to fill and leave outside on a given collection date. I don't fill them any more because on so many occasions the collection day came and went and the full bags were left on my doorstep. Call me old fashioned but I just don't like plastic bags on my doorstep. I didn't want to deprive the charities of the bag itself so I took to leaving the unused bag on my window ledge where it could be seen so that the charity collectors could collect the empty bags and re-use them. Except that they never ever took away the empty bags. Now I use them as bin liners. Am I going straight to hell?

I've also had my phone snatched on the number 12. I won't use it late at night now - even though the stop in Barry Road is just a few minutes from my house. So many scummy people treat it as a free ride - what do you expect but snatched phones and purses and litter everywhere. I don't mind the paper so much - but the fast food crap makes my stomach heave. And don't even get me started about the feet on the seats.....

I know that the WHITE STRIPES have a huge and loyal fan base but I just don't get them.
Notwithstanding this I went to a WS gig earlier this year and it was my BEST EVER gig of a band that I don?t actually like.
It was at the Rivolli Ballroom in Lewisham a few months ago. I?m pasting a link to the venue website just so you can see how fabulous it is. http://www.jiveparty.com/
The front door security was a 9 year old girl checking IDs and the band security was an old geezer on crutches. The bar was run by some very nice WI(ish) ladies. It was just such a hoot; very surreal; all very civilized too.
My friend and I got very tipsy. I think I may even have moshed (I'm over 40 - very undignified).
