  1. I'm by no means an expert :) My letdown was quite forceful in the early months with my 2nd and 3rd babies, but it didn't seem to bother them too much generally. It was worse in the morning, but I tended to do my first feed of the day while still lying in bed which helped. It regulated by about 3 months from memory. P x
  2. No need for Sydenham forums when there's our very own Family Room... http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?29,1146840,1146876#msg-1146876
  3. Around 8 weeks for us - about the time they start being awake more during the day.
  4. I've only just bought some for my little girl (?2.50 at Sainsburys) as she was insistent that everybody else had them (I doubt it). My son just takes his normal trainers for PE.
  5. We are near St Aidan's and had our green bin emptied today.
  6. If you Google "photo resize iPhone free" (or something along those lines) you'll find online ways to resize them.
  7. My daughter goes to classes at EOS Dance School (we attend after school classes, but she runs Saturday morning classes at the Darrell Rd Community Centre). Ari is lovely with the children, and the classes are fun rather than too formal as some ballet schools can be.
  8. Sainsbury's pharmacy is open on a Sunday
  9. I've found as my kids get older my social circle what widened - once they're at school you have the opportunity to participate in school related events (evening ones, without kids) and its a great way to meet more people in a similar situation. I had a very enjoyable (albeit quite drunken) night out with other Mums from my 2nd child's class last night. Also, as they get older, it gets easier to be able to return to things you did pre-kids. I love being able to play in orchestras where there's a range of ages, and music is the thing we have in common, not children.
  10. It's in the area right now Jane1... Walk up Underhill Road and you'll find it!
  11. There's one that comes down our street pretty much every evening (near Goodrich school), and also a cleverly placed one right outside the school gates most days at 3:30pm.
  12. I know what you mean, they are called privacy blinds I think (house opposite us has them).
  13. And Alan. Score for this particular troll 1/10, must try harder.
  14. You're doing well to hear the mower on goose green from the Dulwich Library end of Lordship Lane.
  15. Troll. Look at other threads from this evening - selling a play station to go on a gap year, moaning about lawn mower noise which is too much due to having just had a baby...
  16. Are you taking your baby on your gap year?
  17. Yes, my opinion stems from the age of the baby in this case, I'm surprised that a health care professional would mention bad habits with one so young.
  18. I never found Baby Bjorn slings comfortable. We have a Patapum, which is very similar to an Ergo but much cheaper. You are welcome to borrow it for a while if you like?
  19. We have had ADT round a couple of times in the last few weeks, most recently last weekend. Very young salespeople, but each time they have been in groups of 2 or 3.
  20. I second the recommendation for EOS Dance school, my daughter takes classes with Ari at school but has also been to the Saturday ones occasionally. We have also signed up for another year as she loves her weekly ballet class.
  21. Astrid, that's terrible for someone to have said that to you. I would question the use of the word "professional"! I have used routines with my babies, but generally not seriously until around 3 months or so. Enjoy the precious moments when your baby will sleep on your chest while you can, before you know it they're all grown up.
  22. James, with all due respect, what's been described is information passed by a child to its parents, and then posted on an Internet forum by a friend of the parents. It's hardly first hand verified fact!
  23. If my kids come home and tell me they've played "torment the caged fox" during break time today I will take it more seriously ;)
  24. I hope she is ok, and finds the help she needs to get herself into a better state of mind. As someone who recently lost a family member to suicide, I would give anything to have had the chance to offer help after a failed attempt. I hope she has the support of family and friends to help her, and my thoughts are with all involved.
  25. Did the child tell an adult? Have you (or more relevantly, the child's parents) thought to speak to the school rather than post here without knowing more details?
