Lordy, I thought I was going mad last night! I was in the kitchen and looked up because I heard one bike go past very fast, and then I saw at least one more hare by with the rider's hand outstretched and several bangs. My first instinct was that it was a shooting but it happened so fast and I saw no detail. My boyfriend and I concluded it must have been the bike backfiring as it wasn't hugely loud... Sounded a bit like firecrackers.

Hi James, I emailed you last week about not receiving a consultation (I'm a North Cross Road resident). I also asked if you had heard of any other residents who hadn't received one, but am yet to get a reply. I don't understand where these 2,000 questionnaires have been sent, and like Sue I'm concerned about how many other residents might not have heard about the proposals because they aren't EDF users. Glad to hear some action might be taken now - I look forward to my leaflet!

Not sure why you're getting so agitated about this, thebestnameshavegone! People on this thread have just been commenting on why the complaint might have come about; not trying to ban anyone from ever sitting outside.

They do serve alcohol, yeah. I think the opening hours are normally 9-6, but they're open til 10 from Tuesdays to Saturdays. There's always someone there super early (earliest I've clocked is 5.45am!) I'm presuming getting things ready for the day, and then obviously clearing up at the end of the night too. It used to be that late night opening was from Wednesdays to Saturdays, so maybe that's one of the issues for the complaint. I quite like the hubhub from the cafe - the only issue I've had was with someone scraping chairs around outside at 6.30am one day!

I think some are underestimating quite how busy the cafe is. There are often people in there from 6am til gone 11pm and I can understand why someone would want some peace on Sundays! Don't forget that people sit outside both at the front and at the rear of the cafe so you get noise from both sides of the house, 7 days a week. I wonder if anything will come of it?

We seem to have acquired an extra blue recycling box, which has been outside our flat for about a week now. Has anyone lost one on North Cross Road? If not, does anyone need a spare one? It's just sitting outside collecting rubbish at the moment and we're not sure what to do with it!
