We have a 3.5m x 4.5m room with a 55" TV on the longer wall near the door. Bloody marvellous. Mind you, the last owners of the house took the chimney out, which does help. Looked huge when we got it... now we think 65" might be better!

Agree with Jeremy. ?35 should get you three hours. I think you need to find a new cleaner.

First rule of Microsoft operating systems: always wait for the release of the first service pack (SP1). Until then it will be Bug City.

In 1999 I walked in to Ludlow Thompson to see what they had on offer. Got completely ignored for five minutes. Walked out.

Blimey, that's not even close to ED.

You made a couple of good points, DC, but this is just wrong. Blairites wouldn't back Corbyn whatever his clothing. They wouldn't touch his old-school left viewpoint in a million years.

So she ate a spicy Dorito and then "suffered a severe asthma attack at school a week later". And the Guardian printed this cack?

I'm with you there - the first year of Blair was exactly right. Shame it went downhill with Iraq. I think 2001 was the last time I voted Labour in a general election.

But aren't the IMF proposing everyone but the IMF offer debt relief?

Flight of the Valkyries? :)) Though it maybe difficult and somewhat lose the effect with just one violin.

You're a brave, brave man, Otta.

Because it is, by definition, not about East Dulwich itself?

Well, yes, with devolution that is exactly the logical conclusions. At the moment we have two tiers in Scotland and Wales, and (sort of) one everywhere else. It's just a constitutional nightmare. And its not just the US that make two tiers work - Australia, Canada, Germany and many others do it too. > And given that the south east disproportionately generates tax revenue, can't see how that would help the > rest of the country if those powers are devolved, like they have been in Scotland. That's quite easy to get around - you keep certain tax-raising powers with the national government who can distribute them as necessary. Australia manage this quite easily with rather wildly performing state economies. In fact, it makes the distribution far more visible and so, in theory, more equitable. > It's like a panic has set in because the SNP won a few seats. So now we have to change the rules! Actually, the West Lothian Question has been rumbling along for nearly 40 years. EVEL was actually an issue discussed before the election as you can see from that article I linked to. This is not in any way new.

Cotswolds for me, especially around Stow-on-the-Wold. Really love it out there. -
Blah Blah Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Do the English want an England only parliament? I don't see that at all. This poll is over six months old (so pre-election), but pretty conclusive: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-29880995 Personally, I'd like to see four more parliaments - roughly SE, SW, Midlands and the North.

I think an English parliament (or maybe a number of English parliaments) is the next logical step. The West Lothian Question is a constitutional anomaly that really can't go on.

ratty Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Justification? 80% of the public are anti fox hunting apparently. Where's the justification? For the want of a better phrase, I don't have a dog in that fight. It's worth noting though that the law that was proposed would bring it roughly into line with that in Scotland. Yep, that fox-hunting Scotland that has been governed by the SNP since 2011. Sturgeon has just signalled that she will intervene in England-only issues when she can make political capital for SNP/Scotland. As EVEL was falling off the agenda, she's just made the case to put it back on. (Though hopefully with a better solution than the appalling mess they were trying to push through.)

Any reason why classical, rather than something more modern with a classical feel? We used recorded music from a string quartet doing modern numbers and it was rather nice. Why not take a suitable more recent song he and she actually like and get the violinist to play it?
