Hi Ex-ED family, now living in Jersey in a lovely big house very close to the sea. We are going away for half term and our cat sitting arrangement has fallen through. Our cats are very friendly but need pills so require more attention than daily visits for food. If anyone is interested, we often have house sitters who also look after our cats. We can give you a car to use for the week. Obviously no charge at all for anything. Jersey is very beautiful and a lovely place for families to visit. Our house is full of toys, with a brilliant garden, and a short walk to a giant sandy beach. PM me if you?re at all interested.

Pls Recommend your Lactation Consultant

Hi there I can thoroughly recommend Anna Cannon. She has years of experience in the NHS (particularly in the Milk Spots breastfeeding cafes) and working privately, and is a kind, supportive and knowledgable person. She helped me breastfeed all three of my children, from antenatal home visits onwards. http://www.annacannon.co.uk/feeding.php -
I've got it at the top of my reading pile. It finally arrived after online ordering shenanigans. Such an important subject.

Anonymous: Powerful activist group or disillusioned youngsters?
simonethebeaver replied to Ridgley's topic in The Lounge
????, why talk about violence? A handful of people in their 40s arrested - we don't know why or whether they've been charged. You talked about Corbyn's cabinet; none of them are fighting on the street. I misunderstood your post as it appeared to be complaining about middle aged people being whingers for being involved in left wing politics in middle age. Anonymous is not a bunch of 50 year old academics. -

Also there have been several cases of people with disabilities being forced to move out of homes that have been (expensively) adapted for their use, only for similar work to be needed in a new one, or worse, for the work not to be done but their quality of life to drop dramatically. I have no problem with people having strong political opinions throughout their life. Why on earth should someone in their 50s not want to go on a march or shout about their beliefs? UKIP is full of them. -

Sympathies. I'd add in Quentin Shaw in Tunbridge Wells. Another schlep but he's an acknowledged expert in PGP and has got women out of wheelchairs. Also go back to your GP and ask to be referred to St Thomas' women's physios. The guys at Kings are lovely but not at all specialists, and won't do anything hands on. The Tommy's lot will do massage, acupuncture, hydrotherapy and more, and do very thorough assessments. A different experience altogether.

Pre-school for 2 year old
simonethebeaver replied to cooperach's topic in The Family Room Discussion
My children have been to both Magic Moments and DVPS and we've loved both. The staff are caring and the children are surrounded by stimulating activities. The cost is ridiculously reasonable and the children have enjoyed themselves greatly. -
These are great. No leaking as long as they're screwed down properly. You can get them in Sainsburys. https://www.ocado.com/webshop/product/Sistema-Twist-Top-Sports-Bottle-46cl-Aqua/54602011?ULP_CAMPAIGN_ID=3&gclid=CjwKEAjwzdGxBRC3rPWZq83FzyUSJAB9IC5if8pLmi6mYGlf7q5jPhiXyJMs50mqSFgSXz_IedSkmxoCN7Xw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

question about child maintenance
simonethebeaver replied to hellosailor's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Sympathies. The mediation people will hopefully be able to tell you whether this is remotely a runner, but you could apply to the court for spousal maintenance. These orders are not very common any more but they can be ordered to run for a defined period for a defined matter, ie additional funds to support you in establishing the career that you, presumably, have had to put on the back burners when you had your children. -
Southwark large item collection
simonethebeaver replied to Callie's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I've had a call from a very polite and reasonable person at Southwark. Apparently our rubbish didn't conform to requirements that aren't on the website. We should have had a card and in her view our transgression is mild anyway, and the team is coming back to get the rubbish today. All the points coming out of this will be included in forthcoming training. So I am satisfied. But clearly this team aren't working in the way they should. -

My husband mentioned to me yesterday that he'd seen a group of men taking photos of the rubbish, so presumably we've been deemed non-compliant. But no one has told us this, or what the issue is. I've emailed Deborah Collins to ask why no one is responding. I called but was told that if I'd already emailed someone would be in touch, which then didn't happen. In the meantime, carpet is rotting on our driveway. -

Having had no problems with the service before, this week no one turned up for a booked collection. My polite email asking what happened and whether it can be rescheduled has had no response. I am disappointed. -
The staff at breastfeeding cafes are able to offer advice on finishing breastfeeding too. Why not drop in to one and ask?

Upland Road / Crystal Palace Road junction

I got a parking ticket for having two wheels up on a driveway, having foolishly parked like that to obstruct a narrow road less. I was there five minutes too. I hope that van got two. -
Midivydale, stories like you heard happen when people don't actually put the closest school on the form, assuming they'll just get it if the other choices don't work out. Or if their closest school still isn't close enough for them to get a place. Nothing to do with order of choice. Good luck! And don't be afraid to sit on waiting lists. There is movement.

The quote above says that the 27% is of 'vehicular traffic' not journeys. I also know plenty of people who commute by bike but certainly not a quarter. I personally commute by public transport and would be terrified to cycle in, having inherent poor balance that makes me a very wobbly cyclist. I wouldn't cycle in Amsterdam either.
