No idea if anything would come up, but worth a try maybe?

  3. HonaloochieB Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > What Franklins do is not B&S, it's vegetables. xxxxxxx But my point is, it is described as bubble on the menu, not as - for example - "mashed potato mixed with cooked bits of cabbage and formed into a lukewarm mound on the plate".
  4. Franklins does it with poached eggs, mushroom and tomatoes. Would have been very nice if only the bubble had been crispy on the outside!
  5. Cooked some chicken. Tied it to a string. Taddies didn't exactly flock but a few started nibbling. Some of them seemed to prefer the string to the chicken :)) B**** cat then arrived and made a beeline for the tub, whether attracted by water, taddies or chicken who knows. Quick shower from the hosepipe saw him off, but he'll be back. My screen of sharp sticks proving totally useless as a deterrent, I will now have to net the tub I think. Re the name of the thread, I think it's fine as it is .... "Nature" covers it all really. Some posts talk about flowers, trees AND creatures, would be a bit fiddly to try to divide it all up?
  6. Thyme? Not sure I fancy that in bubble ....
  7. Yeh, I'd leave out the bars and the Vale, and add Hoopers, the Gowlett and the Victoria Inn. Wouldn't personally bother with the Herne, for various reasons, not least that it's geographically out on a limb apart from the Clock House. I'd say the Hoopers/Gowlett/Victoria trio would be more satisfying than the Clock House and the Herne. ETA: The Montpelier is in that area, as well.
  8. Sorry as I am for the falcon, it was quite amusing when the display ended almost before it had begun. Hope they managed to get it back. I thought it was two birds which had gone AWOL, for some reason?

Marmora Man Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- would > be better still if the stalls in that part were to > face the street rather than the pavement - makes > it easier to buy and easier to pass by. xxxxxxxx I agree. I can't see the point of closing off the road and then still having the stalls facing the pavement so the queues and people chatting just obstruct passers by. Also surely then you could have more stalls, on both sides of the road, all facing towards the middle of the road?
  10. Interesting how opinions, or possibly chefs on different days, differ. We went to Jaflong a week or so ago and had quite an unmemorable meal .....
  11. If you look at previous forum discussions on the subject I think it's pretty clear that a few people are actually taking free stuff to sell it on. Depends how you define a business I suppose.

  13. Sue Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > AAARRRGGGHHHHHHH xxxxxxx I think this might have been posted in response to a completely different post :)) But hey it's late ...... ETA: Ah, I have realised the AAARRGGHHH was due to the cannibal stuff :))
  14. civilservant, clearly I am a very poor keeper of tadpoles :-$ I lie in bed worrying about what may have happened to them. Did I top up their water a bit too enthusiastically? Should I have kept the hosepipe on "gentle shower" rather than "full volume" ? Oh no.
