  1. I support this. I had a friend who lived there some years ago and experienced the same cynical and disreputable behaviour. Should be outlawed.
  2. Pharmacy on Lordship Lane. He owns it. Priced out of Beverley Hills/Tuscany - bloody blow-in
  3. P'raps they could incorporate a 'pop-up' chicken joint in the Rye Lane branch. That'd be pretty darned cool. Best of both worlds.
  4. Wimpy, Borough High Street (same chef/management team as the Shard I think but could be wrong)
  5. Buyers are now way more wary of buying at the top of a market which is what it appears to be. Nor are they so daft as to believe the agents flam. Many flats and houses are just obviously overpriced and it is realistic to be fearful of buying and being lumbered with such places over the next period of price stagnation and falls
  6. Dulwich Paragon is a cycling club that offers varied level weekend rides: http://www.dulwichparagon.com/
  7. They do. And the Council has a whole charity donation area at the Recycling site off the OKR where I presume they take them
  8. Ban them - don't over-think it. They're rubbish. Less rubbish is good.
  9. Another 100% endorsement for Jan and his team at JT Enterprises - very effiecent, well priced and a pleasure to deal with, making the move straight forward.
  10. http://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/man-arrested-after-police-officer-is-injured-in-peckham-hitandrun-9050721.html
  11. I was hoping the thread was about absolutely nothing. Oh, wait a mo I get it. Cool.
  12. Possibly the fruit of the female Ginkgo tree - it contains an acid that hums like vomit or dog shit - although I thought this would be later in the year in the Autumn
  13. I'd aadvise not wearing headphones when walking home late at night also.
  14. Love Living South I always read the Foxtons column - beautifully illustrated too.
  15. CPZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  16. For what it's worth, I too recieved the letter and am just glad they are doing something about it. It's been that way for a long time and if it means an interrupted supply then I feel that's a small price to pay for doing whatever it is they are doing. Particularly in light of the rates I am paying I would rather they did something about nothing than nothing about something and I found their whole approach courteous.
  17. Depending where you live - East London line from Forest Hill to Shoreditch High street
  18. Where's the conspiracy? The US was never going to let him get away. Buried at short notice at sea to avoid a shrine, preferred dead than captured for obvious reasons, pictures to follow. A sad case of imperial might vs theocratic fascism. The best, and I admit entirely unlikely solution, was for a FOX/SKY televised, Bin Laden vs Rumsfeld, no holds barred bore-a-thon. Keep shouting and gesticulating until a meaningless fatigue sets in and Rumsfelds known-unknowns segue beautifully into Bin Ladens promise of a glorious afterlife. Then we could all go to bed and wake up again, same as it ever was.
  19. Jeez, get real. I'd much rather pay ?2-?3 for an egg cup full of nuts decanted from a Costco bulk order into a rustic looking jar. They taste better, look better and, boy, make me feel better all round. In fact I no longer care that they haven't cleared the tables, the glass if dirty, the lager is warm, because truly, I am part of something at last.
  20. The advantage of the 12 is that it's possible to work your way through one of the Russian classics (say Dr Zhivago, War and Peace, Brothers Karamazov) in just one journey. Plus the bendy bus is uncomfortable so keeps you awake through any lengthy description of familial relationships in feudal Russia.
