  1. My brother and I spotted an A-lister in ED this weekend............none other than Kermit the Frog*. He was hanging around in the fabulous toy shop near Goose Green. He is totally my HERO and I was starstruck. I have a feeling I may bump into him again around these parts... *as Muppets go, he's at the top IMO.

Forget the Amazonian rain forests.........did someone mention Scoop's coconut ice-cream? ;-) *rings SCIC VIP hotline to reserve stocks*
  3. I really wanted to post this somewhere else so I'm just randomly attaching it here instead. Toodle pip.
  4. Did anyone who was contacted on facebook with these alleged fake friend requests/privacy concerns report it to facebook?

I really do hope the measures work soon.

Fair enough Sean if you're not bothered about facebook privacy yet the person who started a public thread on the EDF clearly does have concerns which have been outlined for all to see on the original posting, which expresses concerns about the validity of those friend requests. So (IMO) the jurisdiction of facebook should have been used to (hopefully) resolve that (facebook) members concerns in the first instance. It doesn't appear to have been the course of action taken. The business involved wouldn't have had to engage publicly on the forum outwith facebook jurisdiction then.

Of course, anyone can come on a public forum to air a grievance (and often do) but shouldn't the correct channel for reporting serious allegations be used in the first instance - in this case, via your own facebook account? Has there been no satisfactory resolution of the alleged spam/privacy concerns (presuming that facebook members have reported this) by the people who run the facebook site? I dislike spam and I'm not condoning it. I fully agree that its disconcerting when facebook seemingly connects you to people/events in mysterious ways. IMO navigating the privacy settings on there has become a nightmare lately (for a non-techy person like me anyway).
  10. Blimey shouldn't this topic be renamed 'Online anonymity brings out the worst in people'?
  11. Eating ice cream in scoop so ner OMG the coconut is divine! Hope the train is delayed, waiting on someone to arrive at ED :))
  12. The Stansted express doesn't stop there though*. They'd need to know to get the right train, there is a slow one and a really slow one. Both stop at Tottenham Hale then its on to Liverpool St. *doh don't quote me on that. Maybe it does now. Sorry.
  13. having to wait indoors when its sunny outside. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

    Rant!!

hear, hear... yeah I don't understand litterbugs......if its not the parks, its left on public transport. Has anyone travelled home late on the 12 bus? Ugh its DISGUSTING. I once sat across from a guy who threw pistachio shells on the floor without a care in the world.
  17. Gosh you're not wrong DJKQ - it must be very dangerous to their health. The previous Government banned smoking everywhere (presumably on health grounds?) yet were more than willing to continue selling it (at highly profitable prices). I guess its no wonder that people are going down the route where its not legit stuff they are buying because they cannot afford it.....(I have never smoked but to me this all seems so wrong). You've got a point, it probably will be fake vodka next.....
  18. reading about people experiencing joy after reading mad conversations on the EDF

Since its you Ladymuck, I can spare him for a few hours, of course. Be warned, he has no experience of square plates (should you require any services in that department...) :-S

True - I hope you royally sacked him and ensured he was escorted off the premises. Fingers crossed the next one is an improvement. *dials therapist*
  21. .....the cutest ever little black kitten with pink collar I have walked past twice today on Crystal Palace Road - she's sooooooooooo adorable. Made my journey longer but worth it for a tummy tickle (for the kitten).

Hi Drew - I really miss the old Bosch classic that we had before moving to ED. Have heard good things about Miele tho. You might want to check out the consumer guides called Which? as they are supposed to provide independent reviews. Good luck. PS. have not heard anything good about Smeg products (yet).
  24. oh look isn't it a beautiful day out there today, yeah... B)
  25. hi giggirl - haven't been yet. A friend went to the premiere last week, said it was good seeing the cast etc but that the plot was really shaky to begin with, she loved the outfits and the humour though....hmmmmm......i'm still going to go along so I can diss it for myself tho.....
